music for workouts?
I'm trying to make my gym playlist for my i pod. I need music that will keep me running on my treadmill longer?
Any tips? What works for you?

I could list tons, but what genres do you like?
Anything but country!!! Something to keep me moving!
I am really loving this new song by Kanye West... it's called Stronger!!!!
I get so pumped and the beat is pretty quick too... if I'm using my exercise bike, I go so fast and burn calories so fast.

"Pump it" by black eyed peas is really good! and body rockers "i like the way you move" always got a good beat!
I've tried a lot of genres and what works for me best is TRANCE !! Especially live recorded concerts. I turn the volume up enough that I can't hear any of the noises around me. Helps me concentrate and the beats keep me going.
The best stuff for me is music that I love dancing to. The kind of stuff that if I hear it I can't help but dance. This is definitely going to be different from person to person since I tend to like non-mainstream stuff (Latin music, Stevie Wonder, Phish, funk, bluegrass). Whatever gets your body moving when you're not exercising will definitely get you going when you're on the treadmill. I've even stayed on the treadmill longer than I planned just because I song I love came on the ipod.
glad someone asked this. I have same problem. All my songs on my Ipod are "oldies", and I have a playlist for "jogging" but I'm tired of it and need new ones. I can only jog to a fast beat. I'll try the 2 suggested above.
I suppose it all depends on personal taste but my best IPOD lists are either Techno for the beat and high energy or if I feel I need some motivation I am quite fond of what my pop loving best friend calls angry music. Like Shout 2000 by Disturbed, old Linkin Park and Papa Roach works for me. Just my opinion.
try some La Bouche songs...they can keep you going.
Metallica - Enter Sandman
Breaking Benjamin - Breakdown, Breath, Polyamorous
Three Days Grace - Riot, One X
Foo Fighters - Monkey Wrench
Jimmy Eat World - Pain, Middle
Nickelback - Next Contestant
Smile Empty Soul - Bottom of a Bottle
Switchfoot - Meant to Live
Finger Eleven - Paralyzer
Da Rude - Sand Storm
Paul Oakenfold - Ready Steady Go
If you let me know which ones you like, I can give you more haha

The Main Monkey Business - Rush (fairly long song with continuous fast rhythm)
This is what I'm currently crazy about right now:
Anonymous-- Bobby Valentino
Summer Love-- Justin Timberlake
What I've Done-- Linkin Park
Say It Right-- Nelly Furtado
Bleed It Out-- Linkin Park
Do You Know-- Enrique Iglesias
Easy-- Paula De Anda
Rehab-- Amy Winehouse
I've got a ton more music on my mp3 player and sometimes I just put it on a random setting and I'll have anything from Crossfade to Mozart playing, but when I need something to motivate me to move, this is what's on the playlist that I currently love. Hope it gives you some ideas!
