Must resist chocolate
It's that time of the month, and you know what that means ladies! Yes, the evil chocolate cravings and I've already given in to the evil voices for the past 2 days and ate the mini hershey chocolates on my coworkers desk! So, I promised to myself to make it through the day without having even one! It was working and my mind wandered off for a few minutes but then the evil voices started again!! HELP!

This is going to sound awful......but eat the chocolate. Here's what I do when I get an unbearable craving at that time of the month. I buy a little bag of M&M's to eat during the course of the day and make an adjustment in calories elsewear. I little won't hurt, but if you deprive yourself, you'll just want it even more!
I cannot go through the day without a Fudgesicle. Good thing it's only 140 calories...
I think that one of the most important things to remember when you are trying to change any bad habit is to not get down on yourself and or "criminalize" any behaviour. Everything in moderation, right?

I agree with Elaine. Eat the chocolate. Eat a small piece of it. Cravings can get huge and before you know it, you could eat everything BUT the chocolate, going way over calories, and then eat the chocolate anyways because you NEED the chocolate.
That's why I keep Hershey's Kisses around at home. They're a reasonable amount of chocolate and stop the chocolate craving monster from rearing it's evil head.

I like you guys!! I think I WILL eat the chocolate. After all it is a small piece, almost 50 calories each. I just don't like the idea of having sweets everyday because then I feel like I failed. Although I do normally have some once or twice a week.
Nothing wrong with savoring a few hershey's kisses. Pop in your mouth but dont chew...just let it melt and get all gooey. More flavor and more time to eat one. After 2 or 3, the craving is gone...instead of downing 10 before you know it :)
So... I had 2 pieces of the chocolate, logged it, 92 calories. Not bad, drank water, no more cravings. YAY!!
yay!
Self-talk... that's what it's all about. When that little voice in your head says 'just one or just one more' you have to distract yourself. If you give in to your craving, you are reinforcing that behavior. If you outlast the craving you win the battle.
Distance yourself from your craving, Distract yourself with something else, there's another D, but I forgot it *blushing*
I mean if you are a binger, then self-talk is definitely something to do. If you can control yourself, then hey, why not have a little treat? Just not too much :)

It's totally that time of the month for me, and I really couldn't
resist the chocolate. Rather than deprive myself, I just had a little
mini snickers bar. If I didn't let myself have it, I'm sure I'd have
stopped and gotten a normal size candy bar on the way home.

Great; now *I* want chocolate, too!!!
personally.. i think you should have it... find out how many calories it is and take something that you were going to eat today out. if the chocolate is worth sacrifricing something else than go for it.
I just started today, too, and I'm totally planning on having a small piece of really good dark chocolate. I'm going to wait until this afternoon and I'm so excited!
I find that sugar free chocolate fudge pudding satisfies any chocolate craving I might have. It's wonderful to dip strawberries in too.
