must-watch movie!!

does anyone know of any other related movies worthy of nomination? i love these kinds of films :)

i actually think this movie is great. I think it vividly shows the harmful affects of drugs. with parent's permission, I believe it should be allowed to be shown in school. Just my two cents...

too bad it's rated R so i don't think it'll make it to schools (i'm assuming ur referring to high schools) anytime soon.

at HS...we were able to watch a rated R movie with parental permission. If this movie were shown in health...it might scare kids out of getting into that kind of trouble (diet pills and other drugs).

oh i loooooove this movie.

i watch it like tons of times. it actually kind of inspires me despite all the result. i like how the mom had so much hope to wear the red dress. and the sound effects and cinematography are great..

im going to watch this tomorrow, for like the thousandth time. ha. and its back when jared leto was still gorgeous. ooo.

i remember i watched this movie like 4 times one weekend when i was starting a diet just to curb my hunger ha. 

its briilliant everyone should see it.

and when you mention requiem for a dream with the "drug theme" (although the movies about so much more than just that as you know) the next movie people will usually mention is trainspotting. watch that. i like this film also. im going to watch this tomorrow too! sunday=movie day. its on the subject of drugs but i find it inpsiring too. worth the watch, and ewan mcgregor is in (yesssss). gorgeous man.

I watched a movie or documentary called "Thin" it was on HBO HD. it was about girls with eating disorders that are in rehab. I'm a guy and i thought it was quite interesting.............

Actually I think we were shown parts of this movie in highschool when it first came out... but it didn't really help disuade anyone from drugs etc... I do remember thinking that I was very thankful I had never taken any drugs etc

Requiem For A Dream is an excellent film. I think it has several meanings. A 'troubled life' is portrayed differently with each character. Outstanding acting, too.

If you liked this movie, I also recommend checking out Donnie Darko (made in 2001). It's pretty dark and psycologically mind boggling. I still to this day am trying to figure out all the meanings of this movie. Awesome.

Requiem for a Dream is rated R for, among other things, scenes of graphic sexual exploitation.

Some people love it, some think it crossed the line and went too far.

Be forwarned if you are a sensitive-type. A friend of mine (who was not prudish nor conservative) absolutely HATED this movie.

Thanks for the heads up secret squirrel.  I will probably watch this movie, but have my husband watch it first so he can 'censor' it for me (fast forward graphic scenes)
