I am going to give myself a pat on the back...
You know I go on here everyday. I have been a member here for a long time but actually stopped using this sight. I appreciate the support I get. I started watching what I ate when I was weighing 212 (April) . I had been taking medication that said I would gain weight. So that mixed with eating high fat foods and other things caused extra baggage. I stopped taking the medication because it really wasn't necessary. I still think my doc was a boob.
So now I have been losing the weight and am down to194. My goal is 125. I think one of the things that has been the hardest is actually changing my lifestyle. It gets easier though. I am so greatful to those voices of sanity reminding me pounds don't drop off overnight and I won't wake up one morning but that I have to experience the process of change - not simply the change.
It's those voices who have gone before me and who are able to share what works and what doesn't.
Thats fantatsic! You are also an inspiration to all who9 come after you :)
Here's a little pat on the back from me too!
Your post was very well said. The weight loss journey is also a journey to well being. Certainly I fall off the wagon from time to time, but for the most part I actually enjoy my new healthy food diet.
Instead of dwelling on what we can't have, it does help to concentrate on how good healthy foods taste - especially when exercising portion control. It's nice to actually feel real hunger and then enjoy a healthy meal.
It feels good not to be stuffed when going to bed at night.
