The only downside I see to that is the problems it presents for your PCOS, which I know nothing about.

As far as your diet, no, it's not a sin to enjoy sugar, in my opinion.  I have 2 tsp of brown sugar in my steel-cut oats.  It's a little better than white sugar, but it's not on the list of the best.

But if I didn't sweeten the oats, I wouldn't eat them.  And my Fiber One cereal has simple sugars in it for sweetening.

That's the purpose of sugars.

The problem is that we have gone so overboard, sweetening stuff that didn't have to be sweetened, and using the high fructose corn syrup . . .

but what you do is very definitly moderation.

I wish i could have the brown rice syrup but its sooo weird but i think i will give it a shot. Hopefully i will get used to the tasted ... ughhh
try mixing half Splenda half White Sugar?

That will at least cut the calories in half, making it only half as guilty of a pleasure =)

I second the Splenda idea. Go for all Splenda; it really is the best tasting sugar substitute out there...pricey, but worth it.
