Name your fav. workout videos here
Hey Guys,
I've been basically doing the exercise video route lately since I do not have any exercise equipment other then some light weights.
I was wondering is there are any certain workout tapes that you have a lot of faith in and have felt have really helped your fitness level and really gave you a reasonable challenge?
I would love to hear people's recommendations here. :)
i've sort of moved on but cathe's videos are fun.
I currently love P90x and P90x+, but you do need a pull-up bar.
I'm still a big believer in tae bo. I did it for years. I highly recommend the boot camp videos with the bands.
Good topic. I love Winsor Pilates.
p 90 x all the way
P90X! I've been doing it for 2 years now on and off when I need to change up my routine a little.
I've never done any of his videos, but Gilad(sp?) on FitTV always gives me a great workout.
THE FIRM all the way. it burns.
I love Denise Austin, I have her hit the spot abs on a VCR tape from after I had my 20 year old and I still use it. It's good for a quick way to get back on track. If each segment isn't challenging enough do all 3 in one day. I just purchased her Yoga DVD but haven't tried it yet. Gilad is great and challenging.
I love P90X too...currently letting my friend use them to get her butt into shape...Love the leg & back day or Kenpo, not the yoga though! My form is crap!
But currently love the vision of my self in the mirror squatting 225 and the image of me walking away and seeing the men in the gym intimidated and stacking on heaver weight to keep up. I've had it a couple of times in the last couple of weeks or so a guy say that 'seeing me knock out deads or the sight of me supersetting makes him want to make it a productive day at the gym'....What a shame; I always go in with the intent to make it productive...but then I take my workouts seriously and never sit and talk.
GOTA LOVE THE BURN!
I was THRILLED to see Richard Simmons' Sweating to the Oldies re-released on DVD! For pure kitschy-ness, it can't be beat and it's a fun aerobic workout. I wish I had legs like his!
i love cathes video! the toning one are great ! i do an hour long strength workout three times week. my favs are muscle endurance, total body strength, boot camp, and total body weighted workout.you can buy them on ebay!
p90X rocks!! gets you sweating and its a great workout for only about an hour a day. totally worth it.
I want to try P90x, but I think if I did it now, it might kill me.
My favorite is the Slim in 6 videos (available at beachbody.com) they are a pretty hard workout but doable for me.
Turbo Jam is pretty good too, though I can't finish it yet, but they are alot of fun!
I still really like Leslie Sansone's Power walks. Especially the 4 mile one. I love that one to pieces! And speaking of Richard Simmons, I have about 4 of his, my favorite being Dance Your Pants Off! (Though I am waiting for it to come out on DVD now, cuz we got rid of our VCR)
I LOVE Leslie Sansone, I can do those at work, when I'm not busy..(Usually a couple of times a day), I also have them on my ipod, it rocks. I am soooo glad people can't see our dispatch center. lol.
I also like p90x, but i recently had surgery on both of my feet (bunions, hammertoes, broke 1st2 toes each foot had pins the whole 9 yards), so i find it hard to do the jumping and rolling up on my toes.
I really like Gilad's Total Body Sculpt on Fit TV. I DVR it and and do it whenever I have 30 minutes or so. The think I like about it is you only need hand weights -- one light set and one heavier set. It's perfect for me!
Cathe, Amy Bento, Jari Love, are my staples. Cathe mostly thought!
My absolute fav is Taebo. You can add resistance bands, use the amplifier bar and its just fun to punch and kick. Plus, do that for an hour and you will burn mega calories. I tried the firm and could only do one workout. Not that it was hard but just so damn boring.
I can't get enough of The Biggest Loser workouts! For some reason Bob Harper's cardio workouts never get boring to me. However, if you have neighbors that live below you, they may not love it. You also don't really need weights or anything, you can do it with or without them. The best part might be that you're not working out with these overly fit people, but former Biggest Loser contestants. Recommend it 100%.
i have 3 dvd's from exercise tv called star trainers. each dvd has 5 workouts. one dvd is cardio (30 min. each), one toning (20 min. each) and one abs. (10 min. each). i also have a denise austin kickboxing video (its about 8 years old) that i really like. she can be a bit much sometimes and her cueing is off but once you know the routine you dont even notice it.
