I've eaten quite a range of foods already but I'm yet to try:

Goat's Cheese
& Marscapone

Can you tell I love cheese?

Hummus

I really want to try dragon fruit.  Cant think of any others at the moment! :)

If you like kiwi, you will like dragon fruit. They are very similar.

Thought of another one: Durian.

We would see them (and smell them) all the time in Malaysia. Despite having the worst stench in the world, they are supposed to taste pretty good.

If you can get a piece of peeled/frozen durian try it. It tastes like rich, creamy, high fat ice cream.

Pomegranate.

Oh me too!! I just can't bring myself to pay $5 a piece to do it.

hehe neither! It's £1.60 (ish) here in the UK!

I would like to try tofu and almond milk.

I've never ate brains but there is no way i ever would!

Wow, I've tried almost all the foods listed here. I've even had sharkfin soup at a Chinese wedding! If I hear of a new food, I always try it at least once.

I'd like to try soy cheese! I've heard mixed reviews so I don't want to buy a full package. No one else would eat it! Same with hemp milk. I would also try oat milk but I've never seen it in stores.

Not really. Although the texture is the same, I'd say dragon fruit tastes more bland because it's not as sweet and has no aftertaste. Not worth the $5 a piece though imo XD

loseweight1234: shawarma is AMAZING - totally worth the cals if you eat a good one. =]

jenningermany: ooo, I'd love to try rhubarb pie too! XD

babyboo-kate: Yeah, you can eat it - the texture is a bit rubbery and it's a little sweet. I think you'd like it. =]

BTW if anybody wants to try swallow's nest, I totally do not think it's worth the money (or cals)

daikon

kohlrabi

rhubarb pie (this thread reminded me about this one)

It seems like everyone from CC needs to gather in Oregon and let me bake you some rhubarb pie. You'll thank me...well your tastebuds will anyway.

Hey, I had eggplant for the first time.  I found this recipe for Ratatouille at allrecipes.com and added it to the CC+ recipies.  Here's the link:

It's yummy, filling, easy, and low-cal.

This is a really great thread! Trying new and exotic foods is a passion of mine.

I just recently tried Lychees. There is a Tai restaurant called Surin here in AL that makes a Lychee Martini! It's pretty good. Especially with Grey Goose vodka...

Eggplant is also one of my favorite foods. I think many people do not realize how versatile it is. Most foods are that way to some degree. Whenever I hear someone say they don't like a particular food,  i always encourage them to try it made different ways.

I am from Pennsylvania, but i live in Alabama now and down south many people are stuck on the same southern fried foods and overcooked vegetables and are afraid to try new foods because they think they won't like it. I want to shout "You don't know what you're missing!"

My father makes the best Italian stuffed artichokes. You can find a similar recipe if you look it up on foodnetwork.com.

New List ;) (PRETTY MUCH all Japanese food)

  • Takoyaki; Fried/Baked Octopus Balls
  • Yakitori; Skewered Grilled Chicken
  • Makizushi; Sheets of nori covered in Sushi rice, with various fish/vegetables
  • Brown Rice
  • Gingko; A type or nut
  • Shirataki Noodles
  • Ramen Noodles
  • Curry and Rice
  • Magic Potatoes
  • Onigiri; Japanese Rice Ball wrapped with Nori (Seaweed)
  • Lobster with dipping sauce
  • Shrimp Crisps; Japanese Chips
  • Anpan; Red Bean paste filled bread
  • Dorayaki; Red Bean paste filled Pancakes
  • Blueberry Icecream
  • Green Tea Icecream
  • Coconut pancakes
  • Plain/Grilled Tofu

Wow, I've eaten most of the things on this list too xD

However, I've never had spaghetti squash or rhubard pie, both of which I'd love to try.  Durian sounds really interesting too; I think we actually bought one when I was younger but I don't remember having any o.O  Banana ice cream sounds really yummy too.

i always wanted to try jelly fish, though i heard it tastes like salty crunchy rubber bands ^o^

Haha, they kind of do if you eat it by itself, but if you try the Chinese recipe with sesame oil, soy sauce, and vinegar, it tastes pretty good! =]

I had eggplant (or AUBERGINES) today! I love the taste, but the texture is kinda slimy. Just thought you should know. I still love it :]

I still have to try Goat cheese, Beets, and Artichokes.
