Nanowrimo
Anyone thinking of doing this this year? or done it before? I'm attempting it this year with my friend Lex (not a joint novel we're just both doing it :P)
I also have my directorial at this time (everyone in third year directs a 15 minute play, the pressure is always intense for some reason) and I'll be working on my dissertation so probably not the best idea I've ever had but still it looks intense and fun!
Yep, tried it for the first time last year. I did not finish. Haha, I only got to like 10,000 words...lost the inspiration, I guess.
I will be trying again this year though!
Awesome! Glad I'm not alone :D Got any idea where you'll be taking yourself? I have absolutely NO idea what I'll be writing about. I'm already writing a novel (I have not gotten far) So I'll be doing that, probably in small word counts, during Nano too! Hope I don't meet anyone, I need time to write :)
Nope, no ideas yet. But, I've started warming up already, writing little short stories and such. I will write the whole thing, come November!
Haha, yeah. It will be a lonely month, just me and the computer. Me trying not to throw the computer out the window, anyways, when I get stuck ;]
have you tried write or die? I just tried it then 818 words in like 25 mins! And I was being slow.
Yeah I'm on all the blogs an weird sites n stuff I can find to try and keep myself inspired, stuff like procrastinating writers, writing prompts. But when I get bored I move onto my songs. November will be a different story though.
I'm so horrendously excited about it. I think I'm going to write a sci fi novel. A bad one probably I'm not very clever :D
I've always said I'd do this but never did.
I've always wanted to try too, maybe when my kids are grown up. By then I should have lots of material. Have any of you tried the 3 day ones? I think I could do one of those, as long as I locked myself in a room with food and wine (and my trusty laptop of course).
I think I might. I have the novel all planned out and keep meaning to...you know, actually write it down. But that's the tough part!
I participated and finished in 2006... yay me! I didn't finish in 2007... boo me! and I didn't participate in 2008... boo me!
I love it... I have 2009 all plotted out and I'm doing character development and I'm even buying a new laptop. It is going to rock. My fav is going to a coffee shop and writing for 8 h and then going home and reading all the terrible dialogue... sooooo much fun.
I highly recommend it and I also highly recommend having a daily word minimum... it helps you... trust me!
Good luck and write on!

Maybe you should do Nanowrimo. At least you'd get it down. You guys should start a group.
