Nasty,horrible dream
i just had a dream that was so real I was genuinely surprised when I woke up in a different world. It was a terrible nightmare.
My son and husband are the same ones I have now. But we were very poor and lived in an apartment complex. It was just about dawn and my husband had gone out to find some part he needed to fix his truck. My son and I were awoken by the neighbor beating the crap out of his 7-8 year old girl. He also beat on his wife when she tried to stop him.
It sounded so loud and so detailed and sharp as though it was happening in our living room. My son and I were terrified and tried to keep quiet and away from the windows. I dont think we had a phone. I know we could not have stopped the situation.
Funny, as I awoke and realized I was in my own room I could hear sirens. I thought "good, now they will get the b*****"
Have you ever had such a real dream?
I have really vivid dreams from time to time that keep me awake for hours, clutching on to my sleeping husband because I'm still too afraid to get out of bed and wander in search of a distraction.
But these are usually horrible vivid dreams that I try to forget. One that freaked me out for days was when I was standing outside of my mom's house with Alex and someone came out of the alley in a car (a few houses down), and asked if my dad was home. We all told him he was gone at some psychiatric ward and the dude carried on a conversation with us. I got bored and mentioned waking up from the dream in search of a new one, and he said something along the lines of me not having to worry about waking up. Then he pulled out a gun, shot me, and I just remember falling to the sidewalk unable to move.
It took me a few seconds to be able to wake up after that, and even after waking up it took me a few seconds to be able to move. I used to have a lot of funky dreams about my dad going crazy. :|
Ugh that is an awful dream. I have never dreamed of my own demise before. I think it would freak me out and leave me watching my back for quite some time.
try dreaming about murdering your own mother..I did and it caused me to worry if i might be psychotic.
The dreams I have put most horror movies to shame. I could make a million dollars if I could write down all of the details into a screenplay. To try to describe them never does them any justice. Lets just say that I laugh all the way through horror movies, I wake up screaming from my dreams.
I once dreamed that I had bought some heroin to use with some friends who lived in the other side of London, but I was stopped by a policeman while walking through the park. I was holding the heroin in my hand and he simply grabbed it from my and started saying he was going to tell my parents so I started beating the crap out of him, and while he was unconscious I cut his eyes out so he couldn't identify me, but then his backup squad came and arrested me. I was bloody relieved when I woke up- I'd never been so terrified.
Funnily enough I'd been stop searched by the police about two days before whilst with some friends, but they didn't find anything (luckily).
Ever since my husband got his new job, I keep having dreams that he's cheating on me. I get so mad at him, and I'm still mad when I wake up. Usually it takes me a few hours to get over it. He just laughs.
I have so so many weird dreams that I cant keep count!
Last week I dreamt that my partner left me for a Singaporean prostitute - I was devastated, and dreamt waking up and finding out it wasnt a dream! then when I actually awoke I thought it was true.
I have dreamt about dying so many times, in one dream I got shot and I could feel my life ebbing away, and my vision got all dark and I could feel myself dying. That was bloody scary.
I dreamt I got bitten by a monkey and went mad.
I dreamt I fell off a building and could see the ground rushing towards me, felt the impact and felt my spine breaking. It was so painful I woke up, to discover (later that day) that I had a kidney infection, hence the pain which was actually real!
I used to have horses and always dream about them. But I dream that they are still there at my old house in paddock, and I've forgotten to feed them all these years and they have all died, or are starving to death.
I dreamt that I had to walk through this forest and every branch, tree and bush had a snake on it and they all jumped out and bit me and I was covered in blood.
I dreamt that I was riding a horse and it was very pretty, all sleek and shiny. But then it was so sleek i kept falling off, so I said (in my dream) nah, make it have a long scruffy coat, and then it did and I didnt fall off anymore!
I dreamt I went to the toilet and had a baby, but I wasnt ready and kept dropping it.
I dreamt about fish, snakes, spiders, horses and my partnet leaving me alot!
I could go on...
the irish believe that dreams that vivid are trying to tell you something. just a thought ive had many vivid dreams that wake me with a cold sweat.

pfft, dont worry about killing people in your dreams...it doesnt make you crazy! I dream about killing all kinds of people (normally with a sword of some kind).
Dreams are interesting. Get to have so many strange experiences.
Boy, what a timely post. I just woke up from a bad dream...about an Ex husband. I hate those dreams that you just can't seem to shake off for hours. I don't really believe that dreams are omens, or mean anything, just the brain 'cleaning house" or something (?), but they are disturbing anyway.
There are obviously very vivid dreams and then there are nightmares that are just normal dreams. Vivid dreams being so fully detailed you can hear flys buzzing and smell what ever is around etc.
So, just for fun, what if we are more that what we appear on earth? What if we are fragmented beings that experience conciousness on a very basic level so we are only aware of our immediate space and time. BUT being fragmented beings we really exist simultaneously on several universes and dimensions? Every now and again, one fragment becomes aware of another and we experience the other frangment's life in our dreams. In other words, we live in a multiverse and our only clue to this is in our dreams?
I once dreamed that there was a huge, hairy tarantula walking up my chest to my face. I was terrified and woke up only to find there really was something walking on my chest! I sat up so fast that my poor little hamster (who had gotten out of his cage and was walking on my chest) flew all the way across the bed and landed on the floor. ![]()
