Nationalties

Quote  |  Reply

Just curious - I love to know what nationaltity people are.  I'm Norwegian and (fence jumper?)   I was adopted so don't know too much about that family, except that my grandmother was a "madam" in Norway....really...isn't that funny??    So....what about all of you?

LOL a madam?! That's kind of neat, not many people can claim something so interesting!   I'm Canadian and my family is a hodgepodge of Scottish and French.

I'm Polish, and from what i know, all my grandparents and great-grandparents were Polish too (and parents, obviously). But considering how many wars and migrations took place on what is now "our lands", I may as well have some Russian, Jewish, German or Ukrainian blood in me.

I've always considered myself tri-national. Impresses bfs to be no end lol

My parents and families are British (English and Welsh heritage somewhere in there too), I became a Canadian citizen, oh and I was concieved and born in Zambia.

I'm welsh. My mum's family are all welsh. My dad was born in a place that when he was born was part of england but is now part of wales. If you trace my dad's side of family back far enough we're polish originally.

I'm American.

I'm American with Italian, French, English and German heritage. :)

Mostly Slovak and Irish but also: English, Dutch, Scottish, German, and Cherokee

My most interesting heritage story happened here in the good ol' US of A.  My grandfather tried to unionize Henry Ford's men down in Texas.  He was kidnapped, beaten, and tarred & feathered.

I've been doing some research and it seemed the ACLU posted a million dollar bond for whoever found out who, specifically, kidnapped him.  It's a fascinating story.

I'm American with mostly German heritage on both sides of the family. There's a grandfather (don't know how many greats) going back on my mother's side that traces back to the German merchant soldiers who fought under George Washington in the Revolutionary War. There's a little bit of Scottish, Welsh, & Native Indian as well.

I am Italian and Irish.  My father's side is all Italian.  My Grandfather went to Scotland when he was a teen and got "sent to the Americas"  for biting off a guards ear during a bar fight... That is how he got here!  I am only 2nd generation.  My mothers side was Italian and Irish.  I have the pale skin of the Irish, but I tan well... best of both worlds!

1/2 Canadian, 1/2 British. - grew up in Canada..living in London.  I have a lot of scottish and welsh if go back in my history.

My dad's side is French Canadian and Polish. Not really sure about my moms side, German I think.

Recently a family member followed the family tree (on my grans side) right back to the year 1000 and discovered that we are english all the way back!

However I live in Sweden :o)

Honduran - Spanish (as in Spain) and Irish heritage

I'm born and raised in the USA.  My family immigrated here from Portugal before I was born.  Raised in a big portuguese community in CT :-)

Mostly Italian ( northern and sicilian) with a little bit of Romanian and French Canadian.

I was born in Honduras raised in chicago... my  whole family is from Honduras.. lily42 my husband is a fan of of ppl from Portugal he loves the food, the language.. soccer lol his fav. players are from Portugal, he wants to visit next year

I'm 6th or 7th generation American.  I have the paperwork and could join the Daughter's of the Revolution but I don't have time for the social part of that.. ha. Maybe when I'm older.

Before the 1700s my dad's side came from England and my mom's side are from the Netherlands.

well, of course i'm very bias, but Portugal is fantastic!  :-)  Been going there every couple of years since before I can remember.  Still have a lot of family over there.

Definately go vacation there, you won't be disappointed.  I'll even be happy to give you a few suggestions of things to see and do while there if you want :-)

and the food!  omg, there are good places here in the states but wait until you have some of the traditional dishes over there!
awesome* there's this lady that works with him and gives him food to try, I should look for places here in Chicago.  My husband swears that Cristiano Ronaldo is his twin..
lol  well hopefully he's not as big a cry baby as ronaldo is :-)

can't speak for chicago but i know out here in the northeast there's a few hot spots with large portuguese communities.  i would think in a large city like chicago you are bound to find something.  though for authenticity i'd have to try it to know for sure!  :-D
