I don't  know if you  guys have seen this yet,  but I found a new brand of peanut butter called "Naturally More."  It's really good!  It's natural PB with flax seed, flax oil, egg whites, and honey added, so you get less fat, less sugar, more protein, and omega-3's. Which is really good if you're allergic to fish, like me. Found it at Walmart but haven't seen it anywhere else yet.

I'm starting to sound like an advertisement, but I promise I don't work for this company. I just like peanut butter that doesn't taste like dirt!

I personal favor organic make it yourself peanut butter available at most health food stores.

You go and pick the nut that you want. Peanut or Almonds or Cashews. You put them in the top of the grinding machine and out comes beautiful natural peanut butter! (or almond butter or cashew butter) And it actually tastes like peanuts!!

Yeah, that's the "dirt" stuff I was referring to. It's fine for some folks, but it's too gritty and bland for me.
I love both!

I have some walnut butter in the cupboard and some naturally more in the fridge.  It depends on my mood and what I want.  The Naturally more is crispy crunchy with the little flax seeds and it's so sweet that it nips my sweet tooth in the bud.  On top of that it runs just 169 cals for 2 tbsp, for those days when I don't want the extra calories of regular nut butter.

The walnut butter (I don't have a nut butter maker near me - I buy it in the jar) is so rich and decadent that I love it with a little dark chocolate.  But it's even better on cinamon raisin pancakes for a meal on the go!  And since I do get it from the jar, there's always a layer of oil on top - I pour that out!  Who needs extra fat?!
ix:

sounds good, but do they have a different grinders for different nuts? Don't you get also whatever is left in machine from person before you?

I like Skippy Natural, Kroger & some Wal-marts have it.  It's made with palm oil, peanuts & salt.  That's all the ingredients.  I love food that has only 3 ingredients.

My son loves it too!
Magan, where I go they have different machines for different nuts. That way your peanut butter doesn't taste like cashews or vice versa!
Jh1, I have been eating Naturallly More for some time now. You are right it is really good and a lot better for you. If I'm not mistaken this company also makes a peanut butter for weightlifters called Powerbutter also made with flax oil, egg whites etc. but with a lot more protein. Plus, the protein is 100% absorbed and used by the body.  Where do you buy your Naturally More? I buy mine at Wal-Mart of all places.
Pyxiedust, that oil you throw away is a "good" oil. Don't make the mistake that all fats are bad. Percentages do not tell the whole story. Slightly higher fat percentages are acceptable if they are good fats.

Dgiger, I found mine at Wal-Mart too. I did some googling on the company that makes it - apparently Naturally More is in fairly limited distribution and you can only get it at like 900 Wal-Mart stores and some other places in Alabama, where it's produced. I love the stuff so much (mmm, crispy flax thingies), I'll probably keep them in business.
Dgiger,

I'm not saying it's not good oil.  But the nutbutter has it's own fat and that oil sitting at the top is added oil!  I'm all for good fats and getting in a healthy percentage of it, but I wouldn't eat pistachios dipped in safflower oil.  Too much of a good thing and all that! ;-)  The extra oil makes it more spreadable, but by dumping it out you save a few extra calories.  Not alot!  Just a little, but they add up.  Good or not, they're still extra calories (and straight fat calories), I'd rather spend them on the actual nutbutter, avocados, or to fry up some tofu.  :-D
I love Naturally More peanut butter..I like crunchy peanut butter so this was a good way to get the crunch without all the calories!  I get mine at Wal-Mart also.
Naturally More bp is by far the best pb on the planet!!

I am having major withdrawals....... Used to buy Naturally More pb at my Sam?s Club, but I guess it was to healthy for the to keep selling it...... Six months ago, it looked like they were going to discontinue selling it, so I bought 8 jars.....

Now, despair...... They are used up and I tried Smart Balance as the ingredients are similar...... Boy, Smart Balance ain?t no Naturally More......

I live in Jacksonville, FL, if anyone knows a reseller here, please post!

Thanky
Actually pyxiedust, 2 tbsp of peanut butter has MORE calories and fat than 2 tbsp. with the flax oil mixed in. If you have compared pure peanut butter to Naturally More, regular peanut butter usually has 200 calories and 14-16 fat grams, while Naturally More has 169 cal and 11 grams of fat.  It actually has LESS, you see. "Oil" doesn't mean ADDED fat in the long run.

Just thought to clarify that for you. :)
Brand new to this forum. May change my username to something less 'revealing.'

Just discovered the Naturally More peanut butter. What a gem!

Couldn't help but notice one post here that said the PowerPB has much more protein than Naturally More.

Maybe not that much more really, since the serving size on the PowerPB nutrition panel is 4 tbsp. Serving size on the Naturally More, as with most pb's, is 2 tbsp. If I remember right, PowerPB lists 24 g. protein for the 4 tbsp., and NMore is listed as 10 for the 2 tbsp.

So, bottom line is that 2 tbsp of the PowerPB is 12 g. protein and Naturally More is 10.  I can't figure out why the same manufacturer (SnacLite) would make two products so much alike, yet so vastly different in price.

But hey - I'll go with the lower priced and incredibly yummy Naturally More any day!
I've been recommending this stuff ever since I tried it towards the end of 06... I love love love Naturally More... Goooooood stuff!
Am I the only person who dislikes this stuff? I have a container of it in my refrigerator, and the last time I ate it I gagged. The first time I ate it I got sick. I am planning on throwing it out, or feeding it to my rats.

You might have gotten a bad jar?

Ive bought Naturally More a number of times and enjoyed it. It has a tasty PB and honey flavor.

However, I recently bought a jar and it tastes nasty. Kind of a rancid, off taste, not so much that you know its gone bad, but a bad aftertaste. Its also not as sweet. Maybe it was a bad batch, but i doubt ill buy NaturallyMore again.
Hi, I bought a jar of Naturally More peanut butter at Wal-mart as well and, although it does not taste bitter or nasty or bad, I was very unhappy with how SWEET it is. My God, do we REALLY have to add sugar and honey (or hfcs) to EVERYTHING? By the reviews I'm reading, apparently so. Coming from a marketing background, I was very surprised to find a very wholesome and natural, health-food looking label only to taste it and be put off by the fact that it is sweetened. I moved to rural SC from Madison, WI and I am amazed by the HUGE percentage of diabetics here. It's seen as an inevitable hereditary problem here. Meanwhile, EVERYTHING they eat is either deep-fried or has tons of added sugar and fatback. Yes, people still cook with fatback in 2007. It's the fat from the back of pigs for those of you not in the know. If you're real lucky, they'll put a thick piece on top of your bar-b-que sandhich that still has some HAIR on it. I couldn't make this up. With approximately 80% off all disease and cancer due to lifestyle choices like nutrition, I'm amazed that we now have to add sugar to our peanut butter. Sigh. Feel free to strongly disagree with me - I took a lot of convincing too. My wife is the director of a nutrution department here and we are both amazed on a regular basis at the cost of eating too much of anything. Bottom line? Lose the sugar and honey and keep it healthy or change to label to appeal to children with bright happy primary colors like all the other overly sweetened products so we can better avoid them when we truly ARE looking for a healthy alternative.
i really like it. at first when i started mixing it i was like "blehh" just by the look, but once i tasted it i thought it was really good. after mixing it some of it was still a little watery so i drained a veryvery little bit out and now it's fine. i actually had some light toast with apple slices and the naturally more on it for breakfast this morning. i do wanna try PB2 also, but right now i'll stick to the one i can get in stores. it's cheaper and more convenient for me at the moment.
Lately, I've been eating PowerPB Peanut Butter. It tastes kind of weird but you just have to make sure you mix in all of the oil on the top.  If you don't, it's pretty chalky and hard, and no one wants peanut butter like that! There's about 79 calories per tablespoon and 6 grams of protein per tablespoon, so I would definitely recommend this peanut butter!
