naturally small stomach
i know im supposed to be on a 1,500 cal diet but i just cant do it, i have a small stomach and if i try to eat more just to up my cals for the day i cant, on average i eat around 600-800 cals a day, i know it sounds bad, but if i try to eat more, i get so full that my stomach hurts for hours and sometimes i have to throw up it hurts so bad.
Reason: Promotion of starvation diets or habits that exhibit signs of an eating disorder ("pro-ana", "pro-mia", etc.) is prohibited.
You can eat more, you just won't. Olive oil, nuts, and nut butters are really easy solutions to get in more healthy calories.
yea i do, i do that but i can only eat a small portion
1 tbsp of olive oil is 120 cals. Add that to a stir fry or salad
Nut butters are crazy calories. 200 for two little tablespoons. There's 300 calories right there.
Try harder. I'm not buying this.
i dont want to add fatty stuff to my body
i want to eat healthy food
Please read some links around CC about basic nutrition. You are woefully uninformed.
i dont need to be lectured im just telling the facts
my docter thinks its fine as long as i eat healthy, which i do
Really? Your doctor thinks it's ok that you eat 600 calories a day and you're crying about being lectured when I'm answering your question with basic nutritional facts?
Enjoy your thread about starving yourself. Exit, stage left before I get evil.
I'm not quite sure why you posted this.
You don't want advice, you just want to state that you have a small stomach?
Well ok then.
I have never been able to eat large amounts of food in one sitting. Right now I am 6 months pregnant so I eat even smaller amounts of food at one time but I still manage to eat 2000+ calories a day. Although I may not able to eat a lot at one time, I do snack throughout the entire day and try to eat higher calorie foods.
You mentioned that you are "supposed" to be on a 1500 calorie diet. Did you put yourself on this diet or where you instructed to by a medical professional?
What kinds of foods are you eating right now that amounts to 600-800 calories a day?
Regardless, 600-800 calories a day is not a healthy substantial amount for anyone. Have you discussed this with your doctor? Have you had tests run to see if there is any medical condition that could contribute to this?
yes according to my stats....
im not starving my self and i would never try to....
you can stop answering me now i think youve made your point,

Unfortunately, I have heard people IRL say that their doctors think 600 calories a day is okay.
If your doctor really thinks that 600 calories a day is okay then I would say it is time for a second opinion.

There was no point except to try and be helpful and ask more information. It is hard for anyone to give their input with only a couple of sentences, which is why we ask for details.
That being said, Calorie Count Plus's mission is to promote healthy and sustainable weight management.
ive been to three diff. doctors
Hey guys I just called my doctor and he said I could go ahead and eat rocks out of the garden because then I'll digest smaller amounts of food
Bully for you and your imaginary three doctors. This is your posting pattern and it's ridiculous. Just stop it. Attention seeking posts that subtlety glorify DEADLY habits are tantamount to just busting out your pom poms for eating disorders.
I know you enjoy the attention, clearly...but please. A big fat helping of inner pensive dialogue would do you much more good than posting here. Yea, or something.
Your junior high guidance counselor can refer you to some help. Use them, that's what they're there for.
Like, wow, ok?

I find it really hard to believe that three different doctors told you that it is okay for a 15 year old, weighing 129lbs at 5'7", that it is okay to only consume 600-800 calories a day.
What kind of doctors are you seeing? What is their practice/specialty?

Calorie Count tools are not applicable to teens.
I typed in your stats in this calculator and got the following:
A healthy weight range for this particular girl would be from about 111-pounds to 153-pounds.
1870 Calories - Inactive (Never Active)
2220 Calories - Low Activity (Less than 1 hour a day)
2550 Calories - Moderate (About 1 hour a day)
3090 Calories - Very Active (More than 1 hour a day)
There's no such thing as a 'naturally small stomach' unless you're the size of a five year old. It's shrunk because you don't put enough into it. The only way to fix that is to MAKE yourself eat more! You don't have to jump from 600 calories straight to 1500 or even 1200 - that would just make you sick - raise your calorie level by 100 calories every few days until you get to where you need to be for good health. If that's too much, then increase by 50 calories a day EVERY DAY. And if you can't bring yourself to even attempt that, then you need psychological help for your eating disorder.
Why do I get bad cramps after I eat?
Suspect lactose intolerance when abdominal cramps are a problem, especially after breakfast when milk products are consumed. Lactose... Read more
