I am 7 weeks with our second and I need some encouragment....
I have been soooo sick! I haven't technically thrown-up yet, but so close, I think I'd rather throw up. To boot, I caught are really bad cold/sinus infection and the antibiotics are making me feel even worse.
I have been in bed for the past week and frankly feeling depressed being inside. I hate this part of the pregnancy. I just want to feel better! I haven't exercised in over a week and already beating myself up about it.
Frustrated...

I understand! Nothing really helps either, eh? I happened to be traveling out of the States during my nauseous days, and it was awful! Any little thing set me off gagging and barfing. Ekh.
I did find that sucking on peppermints helped...some people say ginger candies help...n my friend said chewing cinnamon gum did wonders for her. Just try to stay hydrated and don't let yourself get hungry. Also, I hear that taking the prenatal pill at night instead of the morning might help...and also you can try changing your prenatal pill, I've heard that THAT helps too.
Hang in there! Best of luck :)
When I was pregnant for my son. I was nauseous for the first 8 or so weeks, and I took diclectin. It was a life saver, help a whole lot.
I second staying hydrated, and eating small nutritious light meals. Also soda crackers help some.
Good luck, and dont beat your self up about not excercising it will all be over before you know it.
my mom makes ginger tea from powdered ginger and warm water, it is not good going down but it works almost instantly. She had morning sickness wihen my daughter was preg. crazy I know but this is the only thing that she found to help. I am sorry that you are sick, just know that ot will pass and the best is yet to come. God bless you and your little one.
I am 6 weeks along and was also VERY sick. Working out is out of the question as I have barely been able to function. For the past 2 days I have been taking 50mg of the vitaman B6 twice a day. I can't believe how much better I feel. Doc suggested taking it with Unisom (sleeping med) and I do see some stuff online about that combo, but I didn't want to be drowsy during the day. My stomach isn't back to normal, but probably about 95% there...I might even be able to hit the treadmill this week.
I have also found some relief with orange flavored HI-C drink (McDonalds!) and Jolly Ranchers candy. The 'Mommy Pops" suckers are made from B6, flavoring and sugar, which is probably why the hard candy works...Its the B6 and the sugar. As much as I hate taking in the sugar, I hate being sick more....
Meghansmommy--did your OB give you the go ahead for the B6? I have read about this combination on the internet and didn't know if I should ask my OB first. But then again, I am not getting enough nutrients as it is and B6 is a water soluble vitamin.
I will have to try this...

My OB told me to take Unisom. He said to take it at bedtime and that it would help throughout the next day. It worked great for me. It actually doesn't make me drowsy at all, so I wait to take it until I start to feel nauseated. That way it lasts longer, but every person is different.

I called him (after I already bought the B6), and he was fine with it...As an update, the B6 eventually stopped working and he prescribed something for me. That has been workin so far...(knock on wood!) If I didn't have anymore RX, I would go back to the B6 and try with the Unisome as he said. Another poster said the Unisome works for her also.
Try eating crackers.. it works for me.. I have Ritz everywhere i go just in case. I get rid of it completely but it does help.. I've paste a link for you. I hope it would help. good luck.
