Okay so I am currently trying to recover from Anorexia, doing well so far, I've gained a couple of kilos and I feel pretty ok most of the time.

However

Lately after everything I eat I feel nauseous. Like the food is swimming in the back of my throat. This happens regardless of meal size. If I eat a slice of toast or a plate full of chicken and rice - it doesn't matter, i feel like it's going to come back up.

It's really bothering me and it's making it extremely uncomfotable to reach my calorie target. I have been pushing on and eating anyway, but it's not pleasant to have to sit there for an hour after every morsel of food willing for my stomach to stop doing summersaults.

I've spoken to my mother, who is a GP, about it but all she does is ignore me.

Any suggestions? I fear I will give up on food altogether unless I get this under control...

It could be psychosomatic... If you're not really totally sold on eating more and gaining weight then it can trigger nausea.   Or it could be that you're simply eating too quickly, eating more than normal or you're stressed about something and that's causing indigestion...   You could try finishing your meals with a 'digestif'... such as mint tea.  That can help a lot.   There are also a lot of good antacid preparations available over the counter.  Gaviscon was very effective for me when I had horrible indigestion during pregnancy.

Best of luck

the same thing is going on with me.  anytime i eat anything, i feel like it wont stay down.  i never throw up because of it, but i just feel so full and like my stmach cant hold it even if its a little bit of food.  sorry that doesnt really help you, but i just wanted to say that i know how you feel lol

I'm having a similar issue as well. I've been getting naseaus alot lately after eating (or more often when I don't eat) I have a habit of just getting so distracted that I forget to eat and I realized that my calorie intake is way below what it should be. I went to see a GI about these issues and after realizing I lost 10 pounds in a couple weeks, he gave me a perscription for an anti-nausea medication called Phenergan. Basically it is a histamine blocker and its often prescribed for motion sickness. (which is what I would say my nausea feels most like) It can make you really drowsy but it should help. For me just knowing that I have if I need it helps ease my fears and lets me eat more. You might want to think about talking to a GI specialist and they can usually help, even if it has to do with an eating disorder.

I also second the Gaviscon thing by the way!
