nauseated if I forget to eat
I did a search, but couldn't find a post exactly like what I wanted. Two or three times since I started CC, I have noticed that on weekends when I get really busy with housework or yard work, etc, I forget to eat breakfast. I am not usually hungry, but I do eventually eat a little something. Like this morning I had an apple about 9:30, then I went outside to work. By 11:00, I was very nauseous. I decided it was becasue I hadn't eaten and fixed a microwave "baked" potato. It helped, but it took over two hours. That is similar to what i experienced the other couple times. The nausea finally goes anyway and I feel fine. I am wondering if it has anything to do with limiting my calories..(No, I am not dropping too low---every few days or so I eat up so I don't feel deprived and/or get in a slump).
I have lost about 28 pounds since September, so I don't feel I am losing too quickly. I do eat breakfast on weekdays, but for some reason it is hard for me to remember to eat anything on weekends.
Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?
Perhaps if you are consistently working outdoors on the weekends you're not staying hydrated enough? I know it's been very hot here in the south and I can't get enough water even when I'm inside. Just a thought.
Congrats on the 28lbs!
I second what healthybmi suggested.
Dehydration can cause nausea. Make sure that you are drinking plenty of fluids when you are outside working. You can also have a small snack prepared for you for when you get inside so you do not have to wait until something cooks.
If the nausea continues, I would suggest consulting with your doctor.
Thanks to both of you! That could be it......I will try to remember on my next weekend warrior spree! I started peeling wallpaper off my bathroom yesterday afternoon, so now I have to keep that job going! I AM eating breakfast this morning however!
I have read several articles that state you should eat some form of protein within 30 minutes to an hour after waking each morning, since your body has not consumed anything for 8-12 hours. Since you are working your muscles early in the morning and they require protein this could also lead to your body rebelling, so I would make sure to consume protein in some form before working as well as drinking plenty of water.
My blood sugar is heavily reliant on my eating patterns and if I don't eat regularly I get nauseated/bitchy/shaky and it takes about ten minutes after eating in order for it to subside.
Because of this I get really difficult to be around so I always have a fruit leather or a bag of nuts on me just in case we can't find food for me (food allergies). Plus I carry my refillable water bottle everywhere so that i don't have to buy any!
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
