Nautious during workout
So its TTOM, i usually feel lethargic around these times and slack off on my workouts. But today i was set out to complete an intense hour (divided in the middle with a 10 minute break). After 25 minutes of pushing myself, i started feeling sick to my stomach, like i needed to throw up or something. So i turned down the intensity and went slow for the last 5 minutes until my break.
After my break i still wasnt feeling better, so i decided to walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes to see if that would help.
I could only complete 2 minutes until i started feeling nautious. So i had to just go home. This has never happened to me before. When i am sitting still now, i feel no nausia, but when i start moving it comes.
I only burned 300 when i wanted to burn 600.
I feel guilty, is it ok that i dropped it or should i have pushed through it? I could have probably walked at a much slower pace on the treadmill at least.
Sounds like low blood sugar to me.... You obviously should not have pushed through it if you are feeling that ill. So don't feel guilty. You did the right thing by going home. Passing out or throwing up at the gym = not so good.
But make sure you have given your body enough energy to push through a workout like that. Have something with some protein and high fibre pre workout to make sure you can get through it. Also make sure you are hydrated.
If you just have a bug that is the kind of bug where your body just needs rest to get better.
Since it is TOM it could also be low iron so make sure you're getting your dark leafy greens in! HOpe you are feeling better now.
Hey! I hope you're feeling better by now. I know what you mean. My last ttom I only managed to work out once. I did my usual 35 minutes but I felt awful afterwards, nauseous and shaky and weak. I'm sure it's related. I need to drink extra water during that time, I think, so maybe that would help you, too. Don't feel bad about cutting it short! 300 calories is still a good workout! And when your body feels bad like that it's telling you to stop what you're doing and let it rest.
As a Type I Diabetic, I have never gotten nauseous because of low blood sugar. It varies for different people, but low blood sugar makes me feel weak, shaky, slow, extremely hot and sweaty, and grouchy or snippy. High blood sugar is what makes me feel nauseous.
