wow that was really interesting! click the link about how the average american consumes 3800 (!!!) calories a day! it compares average consumption today to that of 1961. pretty fascinating stuff!

Wow, that's cool! I kept thinking I could eat that. I am always looking for healthy quick breakfasts. I work from 6 am to 2:30 pm, so I usually eat at 5am. It's given me some great ideas!
      Thanks for sharing!

This is awesome - and exactly what I need!!  I need to find menu suggestions for meals that are about 400 calories or less.  Thanks for sharing this - and please feel free to share any others that you find like this!!
hmm, i don't know, it could just be me, but it seems like they underestimated the cals quite a bit in those meals...for example, take a look at the first meal:

1 whole grain english muffin ~ 140 cals
2 pats low fat butter ~ 70 cals
1 hard boiled egg ~ 70 cals
1/2 cup of fruit ~ 50 cals
8 oz fruit juice ~ 120 cals
8 oz water ~ 0 cals

TOTAL: 450 cals

that's a difference of 150 cals already...
wow those look alot like the meals I eat.  Only I never use that much butter or dressing.  I too think that maybe they underestimate the calories a little but the brand you choose can make a big difference.  like the english muffins I get are 130 cal.
3800?  I would definitely explode.

I always wonder out of all the days in my life, what was the greatest amount of calories I ate in one day...

No one will ever know!
Here's a few simple obvious ones, difference being it's alot of food!

A head of cabbage with onion and garlic, sauteed in olive oil (2 tblspoons)

Tomato salad with some dressing (a little) of your choice (3 large tomatoes)

there's lots more ... low calorie filler foods that won't leave you starving ... mushrooms, broccoli, brussel sprouts, snap beans. Most of you will think that's boring but I love simple vegetables.
my english muffins are 100 calories each. and i believe the egg depends whether or not you eat the yolk or not... though it won't differ a TON...
Thanks!  I've bookmarked that for future reference.  It's a question that comes up a lot.
