Hello,

I need some advice. I started my diet last week and have lost 2 lbs! I have a problem on keeping to my diet. Im always wanting something that I should not be eating!!!! I want my Dr. pepper, my fast food and everything in between.. I've cut down on my soda intake, I'll have maybe 1 soda every other day and I drink lots of water and tea..... I do good for a while and then i'm ready to give in and eat what I want!!!! lastnight We went to chili's, that killed my diet completely!!!! Anyone have any pointers on what I can do to keep on my diet without falling off the wagon????

Don't stress out about going out to eat one night once in a while.  As far as wanting things that you shouldn't be eating... that will most likely be a mental battle, unfortunately... it is for me.

I started my dies a month ago and in the beginning it was hell and I thought about quieting but after 2 weeks or so you will get used to it, fill your house with fruits , like apples and babanas , it really help a lot.

reduce your sugar in your tea and coffee to one spone only .

I lost 3 kilos in 2 month but I am happy now with my eating routine, it is not as hard as when I started, I cheated a lot in the beginning , so don't feel bad:)

Hi, if you like going out to eat a lot I suggest you purchase the eat this not that book. It gives you different restaurants and what the better options you can choose.

Hi,

The chain restaurants have web sites with nutrition info.  I went to Chilis last wk. and got the grilled salmon-on the guiltless menu-decided against the chicken when I saw the big amt. of sodium!  I think looking it up and planning in advance is helpful.

Take Care

Hi -

When I feel a craving of sorts coming on I do something else for 20 or 30 minutes (read, take a walk, clean the bathroom or whatever). Then after that 20 or 30 minutes is up, if I still want to eat what it was that I was craving I go ahead and eat it but I only eat a small bit of it. But usually if I can get my mind off of my craving then I usually end up going without it. The other thing I do and it works well for me is that I give myself a "free pass day" once during the week. It can be a fixed day or it can float it doesn't matter and on that day I get to eat whatever I want.  Just knowing that I can have a big bowl on macaroni and cheese  or ice cream or some other "bad" food on my free day really helps me kick any cravings I might have during the rest of the week.

And when going to restaurants I really try to figure out beforehand what I'm going to order. If I make up my mind before I even enter the place then it's easier to stick to my plan of eating healthier.

Hope that helps and keep up the good work!
