okay so i'm 16 years old, female, and i'm just over 5'4 and i just weighed myself for the first time in forever a few hours ago and i was 94 pound

i want to be at least 100 pounds or more b/c i hate being skinny, the other day this guy told me i was too skinny and its just annoying when ppl are always commenting on my weight :(

i eat normally, i eat a lot of junk food and stuff like that..burgers, fries, etc. and i tried eating a bigger dinner today but i got really full and i ended up throwing up a little bit, it wasnt a lot and not on purpose or anything, i'm not bulimic or anorexic

but i hate throwing up and i really dont want to get that full again cuz i am still uncomfortably full and its like an hour and a half after i ate dinner...

i usually just snack throughout the day cause i get full really easily so i guess i will try to have bigger meals  but i just have a really big fear of throwing up so does any one have suggestions to what to eat so that i don't get so full but i still gain weight?

also i looked up online and they had these weight gain drinks but my family doesn't have that much extra money so preferabley something that i would already have in my house or like regular food that everyone else in my family can eat

also i'm lactose intolerant so i can't drink milk, i drink lactose free milk though and one in a while i eat pizza and ice cream but i can't have too much of cheese and dairy or i will get sick

also about how long does it take to gain a pound?

Whatever you do, don't develop unhealthy eating habits.  Do not gorge yourself on junkfood or anythig else "friends" might suggest.  And don't even think about those weight gainer body building drinks.  The safest approach is to simply go slow and try eating a proper diet.  It sounds like you eat less than the daily suggestion of proper foods for your age and size.  Just eat normal sized portions of the right kinds of foods and exercise properly.  If you do those things your body will develop naturally to the size it is supposed to be.  Not everyone is supposed to be large.  If you put on unnecessary weight it will only cause you problems in the future.  In time, your metabolism will adjust and you will gain weight.  The worst thing you could do is fill yourself with unhealthy amounts of the wrong foods and destroy your metabolism.

Thor has made some really good suggestions. Of course, a little junk food in your overall diet won't cause trouble, but you certainly don't need just weight gainer shakes and cheeseburgers. For some food ideas and caloric requirements and advice, read over here: The Aim is to Gain: Advice on Weight Gain, Whatever Your Reason.

Peanut butter, it slows down your metabolism! It’s good for you, and it has lots of protein. But whenever you are in the kitchen try to remember to eat a spoon full!
I'm also about 100 lbs, so I know how you feel. I have managed to keep my weight down but build up my muscle, that helped me look healthier. Attempt some push ups and squats before bedtime!

Care to state your source? :\

yah i wanna know if theres a source for that piece of information too...kinda triggering .

I wouldn't take it on board. Sorry, but it sounds like complete rubbish to me.

Considering what a healthy source of fat, protein, and fiber peanut butter is - I highly doubt it has any ill effects on one's metabolism. As long as its real peanut butter - its all good stuff. The only way PB is ever not so great for you is when its one of those silly reduced fat spreads. The fat is where the goodness of it comes from!

I'm not good at finding sources and things, but I'm fairly certain that healthy fats actually help to improve your metabolism - they take longer to digest so your body spends more time burning.

Not that this really needs to be discussed.

As far as the OP goes - I would suggest figuring out about how many calories you eat day. Add 300-500 from there, and keep adding till you reach 2500 (kudos to lala - the 2500 rule). From there its more of a "did I gain this week or do I need to increase?" kinda thing.

thanks for the advice everyone

im guessing before this i ate like 1,800 calories a day? that's what i got from typing in things i eat in the calorie counter, but its kinda hard to tell cause i eat a lot of homemade meal

ive been eating more peanut butter, also i found out that a scone from starbucks has almost 1,000 calories so i bought 2 of those yesterday, so there's an extra 2,000 for that day!

still haven't gained weight though, how long does it usually take to gain a pound? like a week, a day, 3 days?

i know its different for everyone but i mean on average

500-700 extra calories a day should lead to a healthy weight gain of 1-2 pounds a week.

Peanut butter and other nut butters are a great idea. What did my dad do when I needed to gain weight? Made me drink chocolate milk with every meal, the whole-milk kind. That's about 200 calories or so and it's not expensive like the supplement drinks.
