Need Advice..

Heya,

i havent been on here in a while because i reached my target weight this summer nd thought it would end  weight issues, but i guess it didnt.

Most people have an issue with gaining weight again after weight loss, my problem seemed to be that i couldt stop losing the weight.

My mom got concerned and made me stop doing sports which helped control the weight loss, but i still have issues with it. Im 1.68 m tall (5ft6) and i weigh 51-52 kg (about 113 pounds i guess) and im 15. My doctor told me i had to gain to about 58 kg (127.5 pounds) , thats the weight i started to lose weight at! I know i NEED to gain because i realised my last period was at least 3 months ago (my doctor and parents dont know), the problem is that im terrified of gaining weight. I keep telling myself its not bad to gain some pounds (right now my ribs are quite visible and my old skinny jeans are way too baggy on me and i know it would look better to gain a little) its just that every time that i gain one pound it scares me and i start to restrict food again dropping down to a lower weight.

I dont know at what weight my period will return and i dont know how many calories i need, some ppl tell me i need 1800 which seems alot to me becaue im so used to eating around 1200. Im scared that im gonna get fat again (which i used to be).

Can anybody relate/help? It seems like neither my family or doctor understand me..

xx

I can understand how you feel because my best friend had this problem for many years. Her parents and doctors also told her she had to gain weight however it made her extremely self counscious.  She did realize how dangerous it was to be so skinny. She ended up talking to our school counselor and did put on some weight and she looked a thousand times better. It took her a while to get used to it but once she did gain the weight people started telling her she looked alot better.

Just because you have to put on some weight does not mean you will get fat.  You can gain weight to get healthy but still stay skinny there are certain workouts that help to keep a flat stomach but don't make you lose weight. You just need to look up certain foods to eat that are still healthy but will still give you some extra weight.

Plus if you do end up gaining the weight that your doctor says you should or around there than you might be able to start up sports again. Or instead of gaining fat you can just built up muscle?

I don't know if this helps but i hope it does! And i hope everything works out for you (:

Thank you, you actually are alot nicer than my doctor was to me =]  Im trying to put on weight healthily and my mom told me that if it works out i can go sporting again which i rly want to do :D

I hope people will tell me i look better, but in high school girls always compliment when you lose weight which makes it harder to gain... but i am definately done losing weight, i only hurt my family by doing it nd it doesnt make me happy

xx
