I need some advice! any help appreciated :)

Hey guys, first off I wanted to say ive been lurking around this site for a while but finally decided to ask what ive been wanting to ask, after seeing the immense ammount of support given to the people in need of help on this forum.

A little bit about myself, I am a senior in High School, varsity team captain and 2 time League champion. As much as I find myself swimming, both training and competing, I somehow cannot find a way to lose fat from my pectoral region and my stomache. I train 5-6 days a week for two hours, and either work out at home or go to the gym every other day. I have been cutting back a bit on the fat intake and junk food, but I am getting no results. My muscles are almost to where i want them to be, the only problem is no one can see them :/

It just seems like no matter how much I swim, run or cut back on different types of bad foods, I still can't get the body I want.

I am by no means fat, I have plenty of muscle, but i just have fat layers in those two layers that I can not seem to rid myself of. Yet I see my friends work out occasionaly and eat all the want and are ripped >:( lol. But I know its just my body type.

Question is, what am I doing wrong!? I have read everything from stress related belly fat, to different types of diets and such and I've gotten to a point to where I feel like I've tried everything, but I still cant get the tone and look i want :/ How do i get rid of this belly fat and pectoral fat?

Thanks a lot guys for taking the time to read, and hopefully responding :)

I think your problem is that you're gazing in the mirror too much and seeing 'imperfections' that really arent' there.   You're in high school and your body is presumably not done developing yet.... that doesn't make it imperfect.  Check out the Greek myth of 'Narcissus'.... the boy that wasted his life staring at his reflection in a pool, completely oblivious to everything around him.   Quit the narcissism and start living life instead.

What are your stats?  Weight/height/measurements/body fat % if you know it...? If we have an idea of that, we might be able to see if it's as GI-Jane suggests (that it's more of a mental thing for you, and that no one else can see it) or if it can even potentially be fixed.

You may have plataued... your body is so used to what you do every day that it has stopped producing results.. You should try different core workouts that your body isn't used to... Honestly if you are willing to spend the money I know of an amazing workout that you might enjoy.. write me if you'd like to know more.

Just because he wants a six pack doesn't make him narcissistic. Competitive athletes often have goals that are much more rigorous and difficult to achieve than the average person. This doesn't make us narcissistic; we just have different goals. Also, a lower BF% in very competitive athletes generally correlates to faster times.

To the OP: congrats on your swimming achievements!! I used to swim competitively, so I know what you're talking about. Unfortunately, I know quite a few college swimmers who don't have that ripped body. It doesn't make sense because they work out for hours a day. My guess is that you're eating too much. Sometimes when you exercise that much, you think you can eat anything you want. Also, do you drink? Alcohol is empty calories and can creep up on you.

How much weight training do yall do at practice? When I swam competitively, we had practice everyday for about two hours (same as you). Every other day one of those hours would be devoted to strength training and circuit training. The other days would be purely swimming (with a little bit of stretching). I found this was a good balance, as we got in roughly 3 hours of strength training a week. If you're not getting in enough strength training, try to start incorporating more weights. I don't know if you'll have time, as 2 hour daily practices are quite a lot, but if you can find the time, you'll start to see more results.

Anyway, good luck!!!! And keep on swimming! One of my biggest regrets is quitting the year round team.

Yeah thanks for clearing that up for me jcl haha i didn't want to sound conceited in my post just looking for some advice :/

OP: I used to eat too much, I definately have been cutting it down the past couple weeks, hopefully that'll show me some results. I used to think I was Michael Phelps and could eat whatever because I had just worked hard, Guess not haha.

I lift on my own every other day for 1-2 hours.

Any workout plans would be helpful too :)

but is there anything im doing wrong? Like I feel like I workout so much but not getting to what I would like to achieve unfortunately

The workout is called P90X I don't know how many people have seen the infomercial but OMG it is a fantastic workout...You should look into it... But be careful when you got o order they are going to try and get you to buy all these extra supplements and equipment most of which you can find at walmart... all you need are some weights ( if youd like) a pull up bar, yoga blocks are helpful, a mat if you like, resistance bands if you perfer..a water bottle, or glass of water whatever works..oh and a chair for chair dips, invert. pushups. so a sturdy chair...if you want supplements I like walmarts choco protein powder, and they have creatine, but so does GNC it just depends on where you prefer to buy your supplements. But I would recommend supplements..creatine ecspecially. but only use it one month on one month off. Your body will get used to it and stop using it or something like that...but I love the P90X and i bet you will too. It only takes between 1 and 1.5 hours a night... and boy will you feel it the next day.. I don't care how in shape u are.. thats the thing about this workout... you push yourself to the limit... But good luckin your endeavors.

P90X is great but I was not able to do the program due to an injury. I was once very fit and now i am not lol but I will start the program in November. A friend of mine (guy) has been doing it and he feels better and has been able to past the so called plateau...
