i only started dieting 5 days ago and i lost a pound and felt great about it! i weigh 171 lbs, im 17, 5'5, and recently ive been having 1200 - 1300 calories a day. i exercise everyday, walking and cycling. i know i shouldnt be expecting dramatic results the first week but ive noticed ive gotten bloated and its really been getting me down. does anyone have any advice for me to do this right? am i eating the right amount of calories? i eat lots of fruit and veg and drink plenty of water and id really like to lose the weight this time

I'm not sure about the calories but you are probably bloated because of all the fruits and veggies.  It may take a while for your body to adjust or you may want to take beano with your meals to help your body digest these foods better without the bloating.
I believe at 17 your body needs way more than the adult body function standard 1200-1500 calories... I know someone on here has a link to a teen BMI and calorie amount website!  I'm not sure about the bloating part, but if you don't eat enough calories for your system, soon you will become lethargic to top it off.
i didnt mean i eat loads and loads of fruit and veg, i eat the right amount! i guess you're probably right about my body trying to adjust, i never thought of that before! i used to eat 3 meals a day and a snack before i started to diet, but it was all the wrong things and bigger portions.

thanks!
ohh :S i should have more calories then? im not too sure how to work all of this out
Everyone's body is different. Play with your cal levels and see when your body feels at its prime energy and performance level.  You'll probably want a few more calories--maybe 1400?  Learn to listen to your body--only you will know when you feel your best but not waaay too full or fatty.
