hey guys i just want to say anyone whose new with this site and havin troubles, keep with it!! it works sooooooooooo well and u can eat whatever u want as long as u stay within ur cals, it's a lifestyle change which i think works. With that being said i'm 5'5 and lost about 16 lbs since june when i first started. My goal weight by nov 14 which is my bday is 125. I'm 132 right now. It is really hard to break into 129. I just keep hoppin. Does anyone have any advice? i follow the cheat diet, i dunno if anyone knows what that is but basically i eat 1270 cals 5 days a week and my maintenance of a little more on weekends. It helps a lot cuz i'm in college and i'm able to keep up with goin out and losing weight. I haven't had any problems losing. Last few weeks i've been zig zaging instead of keepin up with my 1270 cals 5 days a week so i try not to cheat on weekends until i'm back to that routine. Another question, I want to tone my abs and arms cuz although i lost weight, they're still problem areas. Any advice on how ppl broke into the 120s or there goal weights?
Lemme know
thanks!

I'm right there with you!  My birthday is Nov 13, and my goal is also 125!  I'm currently 132.5 and my "extra" is on my stomach and upper arms.  I wish you had pics posted, because we're like CC twins! :-)

Except for the part where I eat 1700 cal/day.  I tried eating around 1200-1300 and I was starving and crabby, not to mention, NOT LOSING ANY WEIGHT!!!.

As for advice about how to tone up certain areas......well, do your weight training and get to the cardio afterwards because your glycogen is generally used up after 45 min of weights, so now you're using up your storage!  I'm not sure if I should be eating less because I am pretty active, but I'm gonna add you as a friend.

Keep me updated on your progress...I'm finding 130 realllllly hard to hit.

what a crazy coincidence!! Ya, I hit 130 once this week, i weigh myself in the mornings. It moves up and down like crazy, it goes from like 130 to 136 at any time during the week. This used to happen to me when I was in the 140s but once I hit the 130s, I never got back up to the 140s so i just really wanna see the 120s atleast in the next 2 weeks sometime. we should keep in touch twin!!

Monday mornings are a bitch, aren't they?  And I hate weighing in (much less eating) before I poop, but usually eating happens and poop happens later.  I'm gross.  Haha, and you're two inches taller.  I would LOOOOVE to see 129.  Love.  Good luck!
I'm not there yet either...want to be 125 and am hovering between 134 and 136...

I'd love to lose those last 10 lbs by Christmas - I hope I can do it!

My problem areas are my thighs and stomach. My bum has always been rather flat and now it's even more so unfortunately, but my thighs still make me feel I look fat.

Anyway - good luck to us all!

hehe...I'm in the same boat!

It took me forever to break 130, and now that I finally have I'm stuck at 128.

My goal is 125 too!

I am 5'4" and about 123 right now. The 130 barrier was HUUUUGE for me! I could never get past it, it seemed. I was convinced that my body was fighting it. I think that what did it for me was consistency and being more honest with myself about what I was eating and what I was burning off.

I put my activity level at sedentary and just started logging my exercise and any extended periods of walking or standing. I was shocked at how little I was actually burning off! I also had to be more diligent with logging the calories. For example, I wasn't putting in the coffee I was drinking or some of the veggies I was eating before and now I put them in. It may be only 30 calories here or there but by the end of the day they add up to 200+!

Now I've been eating 1200-1300 calories/day and working out (at least 30 min cardio + weights) 5 or 6 times a week - that's led to about 4 pounds lost in the past two weeks so I'm feeling pretty excited about it!

I also carry weight on my tummy and upper arms and I hate it!!!!! ahh! The exercise really really helps... losing weight is great, but adding muscle makes you look like a whole new person. If you want recommendations for specific exercises I might be able to help.

ninabeanah,
I'm currently with you on 134, my goal is 125! I would jump up and down and CRY if I could EVR break these 130's blues!!!

i went from 139.5 to 125 - working my way to 120.  i did it by not cheating, eating around 1100 - 1200 and excercising every day.  i continue to lose one pound a week, sometimes a lil more, sometimes only 1/2 pound depending on my TOTM and haven't hit any platues yet.  It's been around 3 months.  maybe drop just 70 calories during your non cheat days?  1200 instead of 1270?  or up your excercise a bit?  it's all in the math.  expend more than you consume and you should break out of the 130s.  it's an awesome feeling when it happens. :)  congrats on your success so far and good luck getting to your goal!

I was 137 when I found this site (beginning of september). I lost  a lot of weight before I came here by watching what I ate and excercising. I'm 128 now and might still be loosing. Been increasing my calories, so my weight loss slowed down. I'm actually trying to maintain. I'm 5'6" (5'6.5" actually, but this site doesn't have halfs), 22, female, 128

I remember how proud I felt when I hit 130, and it wasn't that hard either. I got strong will power. I work out every morning and I'm strict on the foods I eat. I can easily say no to unhealthy things when it's offered. I go for tea (I drink it black) if the smell starts to get to me.

Try to avoid cheating till you hit your goal. Or limit the cheating to once per week at the most (for eating out or what ever you choose) and try not to consume over the amount you burn on those cheat days.

Also for working out, don't stick to the same workout if you want to keep getting results. I increase my distance on my power walks when I feel I'm starting to get use to them and I increase my calisthenics, stretches, and the sets for my weight lifting when I feel it getting easier. The body has to keep being pushed in order for it to keep burning, leaning, getting faster, building, etc. As they say, training is the way to get better at something and always push yourself to get even better than how you were before.

Just don't push yourself too hard, or you'll start at square one with those injuries.

omg i got stuck at 131 for a few MONTHS.  seriously i think it's really really hard to get past 130 but once you do it's easier.

i started at 143, and lost about 13 pounds by diet alone.  once i got stuck between 130-132, i decided to try exercise (walking).

well it must have boosted something because in a week i was down to 128.5!!  after that i hovered around 128 for a while...2 weeks ago i just made it to 126.  trying to get to 120; almost there!!!

DON'T GIVE UP!!!  trust me, just keep chuggin', and be sure to mix it up a bit (maybe zig zagging cals, increase or decrease workout...SOMETHING to switch up your metabolism!!)

trust me, it WILL happen!

Can I be your triplet or quadruplet or whatever? I got down from 140 real fast, but have been yoyoing around 131 - 133 for weeks now, will I EVER break under 130 and get down to my goal of 125?

I'm 42 and 5foot3, and i do HIIT (run 30 sec walk 30 sec) 30 minutes every day. Try to keep under 1300 but end up cheating (eating 1500) once or twice a week. grrr
