I REALLY need a buddy.
I'm 5'5, and 125 pounds.
But I'm only 13 and I want to be 110 pound by bikini season. For my age it's not underweight, so please don't post saying you're gonna be to skinny because I was that weight last year and I looked perfectly healthy.
I've been on over 100 infomation sites, so I'm pretty set to weight loss and I could really help you loose some weight also. I'm on the computer alot, so I will be able to talk alot too.
I also do prefer that you are in my time zone, or a few hours diffirence so it would be easier to communticate.
Oh and I forgot my name. I'm Valerie.
I might be stating something that you consider obvious so please don't take offense. Make sure the buddy you make is a women. Don't befriend any men for this task. I hope you meet someone that helps you out. Good luck Valerie.
Thank you.
Ive been looking for one too send a message if you want
I'll be your partner!
i want to be 110 pounds too! im fourteen about to be fifteen
posts like these annoy the **** out of me, so i'll try to be nice...
(1) you are thirteen years old for gods sake, don't even dare attempt dieting now... you have tons of growing still to do, if you start depriving yourself in your peak growth years you are destined to have numerous problems later in life
(2) your goal is unrealistic.. I was 90lbs when I was 13, but that doesn't mean that I am going to weigh that much now... 125lbs is perfect and skinny for someone your height... the lowest you should be is about 118-120lbs
(3) stop with this "i wanna be skinny" BS, you are heading down the path to destruction with this pro-ED mindset
(4) you are 13... get off this site, go out with your friends.. you are much to young to be worried about this stuff right now, this site is for people who actually NEED to loose weight, or need help with diet.. not young growing teenagers who are already thin

very good point, it would be a little on the on the "uncool" side of things if a guy tried to buddy up with you on here, especially because your only 13. No offense or anything, but there are a lot of creeps on the net and the last thing you need to do is pair up with somone like that.
Fortunately CC has a lot of girls your age so finding a buddy shouldn't be too hard. But you can never be to safe

While I agree with you on the fact that she is at a healthy weight and already appears skinny, that dieting is not necessary. Especially since she is still growing. It is a pro- eating disorder mindset. I don't really think that she should diet, but she specifically did not want to receive a post like this. I know that when I have gotten responses like this in the past it is discouraging and doesn't solve anything. I am not trying to bash your post or anything like that, because like I said, I agree with you, but I think that you should try to word it a little better.
As for the last point that you made, this site is for anyone looking to better themselves, no matter the age. Its debatable whether or not a diet in her case would better her, but she does have every right to use this site as a tool and information resource to learn from.
i feeled so sorry for u when i read this post plz dont get into this dilemma it is tooooooo early for u
u simply can get in shape thru sports and eating ealthier
not dieting not losing weight
think of activities u can do with friends outdoors instead of going to the mall
swim if u can ,play basketball,vollyball,....just have fun
it will reshape ur body without at all messing up ur metabolism
i have been there and crash dieting at 15 only doomed me to yo-yo diet for 8 years now and getting to a point of actual obesity
simply i culd also have ended with an ED and weigh 90 lbs and disabled
plz dont take this sarcastically i know the feeling when u want to wear ur bikini and feel beautiful and confident but dont define urself by how others c u otherwise u ll never b happy with who u r
wish u a life full of happiness and health

Maybe she wants to work on healthy eating and making it part of her life. Why do you all have to be so effin harsh? This site isnt just about losing weight, its about being healthy also and learning about nutrition and exercise. Maybe she doesnt have support at home and you are being mean and pushing her away. You should be ashame of yourselves! Our children are sooo obsese these days from toddlers to young adults and you are critizing her for caring. I hope she isnt obsessed about it but our epidemic of obsesity is becoming out of control.

exactly the point I was tring to make.
k for one, she is no where near obese.. she is at a healthy and thin weight for her height
two, she is 13, and kids that age should not be dieting unless nessessary and under supervision
three, her goal weight is unrealistic and she claims that it is okay to weigh 110lbs at 5'5 because she "used to weigh that much" and shes "only 13"
..well hun the reason that you dont weigh that much anymore is because your body is growing and developing, not because you are 'fat' or anything... a lot of that weight is bone, muscle, and internal organs developing, along with the onset of puberty you ARE going to gain weight because you are a WOMAN, and woman have breasts and hips
I don't know why you people are supporting this... it's sickening, you should be ashamed of yourselves
this girl is obviously too influenced by the effects of the media and eating disordered celebrities... what's next, "oh no my baby has baby fat, i'm gonna stop feeding it"
dispicable
take this as a better example:
pretend that you are the mother or father of this girl: your dear sweet little 13 year old, fresh into highschool a whole new world
suddenly your once free and fun loving little girl changes... she starts become withdrawn and irritable.. she starts avoiding family dinner, skipping breakfast, playing around with the food on her plate saying that she's not 'hungry'....
she frequently refers to herself as "Fat" or "Ugly", you don't understand where this is coming from... she is neither. She is young and beautfil, and healthy and thin... but she doesnt see that.
at school she is presurred by peers to look a certain way, the media shows images of how someone "should" look, there are new "diets" in US weekly at the cashregister everytime you buy something at the store... basically this girls self esteem has taken a beating by all these images bombarded at her
do you encourage her to diet so that she will stop with these irrational thoughts? Do you call her fat and say that you liked her better when she was 100lbs and 12 years old? Do you not love her anymore because she doesn't have the body of of 10 year old boy anymore?
I hope not.
dieting is not the answer in this case, it will ultimatly make matters worse
...
as for the OP, I have no control over what you do with your life, but I can tell you straight up that your words and the way you are thinking currently is not healthy... your preoccupation with being skinny and losing weight will potentially set you up for an eating disorder.reember you don't have be emaciated to have an eating disorder
I think you you need to look at your situation a little differently. Maybe you need to adopt a HEALTHY diet (everything we eat is our diet) and participate in reasonable exercise. Maybe look for a real friend who will remind you not to grab the bag of chips or drink a bunch of soda. Fruit can be fun if you make it into smoothies & there are hundred of recipes for that. Also, drink plenty of water. The most important thing to do is to enjoy your youth. I'm sure we'd all love to be a teenager again. I think that everyone on this sight cares about YOU as a person even though we don't know you personally. As older adults, we have probably all seen the effects of eating disorders on someone that we know personally or casually. It isn't pretty. It will affect you forever. I know you shouldn't "diet" at 13, but I remember being frustrated at 13 & I did try to diet. However, buy 14 I had grown 3 inches and lost that 'baby fat". It was there to keep me healthy. I remember what you are going through, but please consider a different option. Also, at your age do not take the number on the scale. I once lost 5 pounds but dropped 2 sizes. I added muscle & toned up. I looked healthy & strong. Just eat right & exercise. I am sure you area beautiful young lady.
Carmenxox you know I have read through some of your entries and it seems to be you take very offensive when someone accuses you of not eating or how someone can "eat whatever they want and not work at it". You obviously had a ED before...when you weighed 87lbs. And now is just as obsessive with exercise.
The example you so willingly shared explains your life doesnt it?
Well not every girl concerned with their weight ends up with a ED. I surly didnt and focused on being athletic and lifting weights during my cheerleading yrs.
I am sorry you had to go thru that at a teenager but give the girl a break and relax.

close but no... more so I am fed up of these triggering posts by young ignorant pre-teen girls who should not be on this site in the first place.
I find it very hard, (as well as others) who have been through the struggles of EDs, and then to come on this site [which we use to help us find advice and guidance] only to read this kind of thing which frusterates and hinders any progress we make
and it makes me angry that the moderators on CC don't just block such users, or have a screening of new members to make sure that this site is being used for good intentions, and not as a tool to make one "skinny"
little Valarie here is trying to justify weighing 110lbs again because she weighed that LAST YEAR, when she was 12.. I probably weighed 90lbs when I was 12 but in no way is that a good healthy weight for me now.
this post says nothing about "being healthy" the girl just wants to be "skinny" thats it.. she wants someone to reassure her and motivate her to deprive herself of the neccessary extra calories teenagers need for growth.
I know I can just ignore these types of posts, which most of the time I do cause there is so many... but i dunno theres only so much I can take, then all my frusterations come out on one
I should stay off this site.
actually I'm just gonna refrain from posting on this thread anymore... apparently I missed the meeting that said that it's okay for healthy 13 year old girls to diet and count calories.
perhaps when everyone comes to their senses you'll hear from me again... that might be a while. tsk tsk
