I need a buddy
So far I'm 155 pounds and I'm 5'4 I've lost 20 pounds. I just can't seem to stick to my diet when I'm away from home. I went camping and ate hardly anything because it was hard to keep track of my calories and then I came back and binged horriably....pwd. I hate excersise but have managed to start doing a little....very little.
Hiya hums.
I'm kinda new to this forum thingy(this is my first reply) so please forgive me if I suck at this. First off, congratulations on the 20 pounds..awesome job. Secondly, when away from home, don't get pre-occupied with counting calories -- obviously whatever you're doing is working, so just try to bring and prepare foods that you would normally eat at home. The calories will take care of themselves. Finally, exercise..blah! I think we're in similar boat. But after doing some research, there are tons of things you can do to burn calories that don't necessarily count as "exercise". Walk around the mall with friends, walk the dog. Even everyday chores like mowing the lawn can burn tons of calories per hour. Team sports is great way to burn calories and meet people at the same time. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you don't need to be on a treadmill or elliptical trainer or lift weights endlessly to burn calories. Oh, and you mentioned that you have started to exercise. Don't think of it as "a little" think of it as a start. Remember "a little" is better than nothing! :)
Keep up the great work. Hope this helps,
Toby
Hi
Seems we have a lot in common. I'm 5'4 and currently 157 lbs. My top weight back in June of last year was 195 lbs. I was down to 147lbs back in June, but got married and fell off the wagon and gained 10 lbs back. Now I'm trying to get back at it.
I lost most of the weight without "working out" at all. My job is pretty physical, so luckily I burn a lot of calories during the day. I'm not an active person, and would much rather sit on the couch and watch tv. I would suggest finding something easy, like walking or something, and make it enjoyable. Listen to music if you like that, or find a buddy to walk with. If it's not hard and isn't "working out", I find it much more enjoyable.
I too am a binge eater if I restrict myself too much. As far as eating better when away from home, try planning ahead and packing food you know the calories for. Portion food out ahead of time so you know exactly what you're eating. But really, I wouldn't worry about it occasionally. If you're too strict with your diet it will be too hard to stick to. If you have a bad weekend it's okay, just have more healthy days than not. The weight will come off with time.
Hope this was helpful, good job so far!
