I NEED A BUDDY! 19. 190lbs. 5'7''
Hello all!
i'm looking for someone who would like to keep in contact about there efforts, goals, and day to day struggles with weight loss. if anyone is interested please contact me! a twin would be nice! I joined a gym april 21st and so far i've lost 15 lbs, YAT exciting =D I would like to get down to about 145-165 maybe more but i'm trying not to set the bar too high.
Hey i'll help you along!! :) im 17 (almost 18) 5'7 and 160lbs, and i just joined a gym a couple weeks ago. So tell me what things you were doing at the gym to lose so much! :)
Can we make this a trio? I'm 17 (18 in September), 5'7", and 180lbs. I've been going to the gym as often as possible, and I generally walk the treadmill at a 3.5-4.0 mph with a high incline for 35 min, use the elliptical machine at a high resistance for 30 min, and then strength train. The thing is, I'm not losing any weight. I started at 180 and am still at 180. I know part of the problem is with my diet, but I feel like I should have lost some weight by this point!
how about a quartet? :) i'm 17, 5'7", and 167.
bcarpe i hate to give you that whole "you're gaining muscle" talk but i'm pretty positive that's what it is. once you start paying attention to your diet you'll start losing rapidly i'm almost positive. the fact that you haven't gained shows you've lost some fat, but gained some muscle. with that kind of work out it's inevitable!
Sooo frustrating! But I know that you're right. Exercise seems to be the easy part for me; it's just the diet that I'm pants at. I'm looking to make a life change and continue to eat healthfully after I reach my goal weight (140 lbs).
HELLO !
i'm new here so i'm excited to see that i've gotten some replies! the only thing I can think of that's helping me the most is i've REALLY tried to cut out fast food and soft drinks. I also try to get to the gym 3-5 times a week for about 2 hours each time. lately I havent been doing so good due to the fact the gym is like 20 minutes from my house and since I don't have job gas money is limited. ALSO i'm actually 18 i'll be 19 on the 27th =) so where's everyone from?
Hi!
I was gonna be a lurker, but I think it would be easier for me if I had some buddies, too. I'm 20 and I was exercising regularly when I was at school, but my first month at home I fell off. Now, I'm back to running every other day (found out the distance to the gym was too much to overcome for me). I'm 5"6 and 170 lbs. I want to get down to 125-130 (my weight before diabetes and college).
I'm from Maryland and I go to school in Illinois;)
Dieting has been hard for me, but when I'm exercising regularly is easier to avoid emotional eating...must be the endorphins, lol.
The best thing I've been doing is not treating hunger like an emergency situation and more like just a reminder to eat.
I'm from Tennessee, and I'll be going to college in Colorado in January. That's my major motivation for getting in shape. I'm an avid hiker, and I want to be able to take hold of all the opportunities available to me.
I'm spending the next six weeks in Turkey, so I will not be eating fast food. Plus, the food over there isn't made with as many preservatives and the Turks generally don't snack, so I'm hoping these influences will affect my weight loss. :) Hopefully when I get home I'll be able to stay off the fast food (it's my kryptonite).

i love that.
i have a harder time getting myself to exercise than i do getting myself to eat right - i can restrict all day long but it's hard to get my butt on a treadmill. now that i'm swimming, though it doesn't FEEL like exercise so i'm doing much better. siarar two hours in one session is amazing, wow. i can barely do 30 mins without passing out.
hey i'm from tennessee too! but i'm not doing anything cool like going to turkey :( that's going to be an awesome experience.
Tennessee is sooooo hot right now.
Just pace yourself. You'll build up the endurance. Are you swimming laps?
Hi, i too am quite new to this. I'm 27 and from the UK. I weight 166 pounds. I don't really have an ideal weight, more of a dress size. I have been doing body combat (aerobic kick boxing and karate etc.) and body jam (aerobic dance). I would love to be your weight loss buddy... we need all the encouragement we can get and who best that others in the same boat x
I am in the same boat as most people :( I am a 185-190 lb. depending on the day or time of day. It is extremely hard for me to lose weight since of course I love food, but also love to cook. I am currently working out 5 days a week and now 2 times daily 1 hour each time. I am doing rigorous training but no matter how hard I push or work I simply dont lose weight. I am so interested in meeting new people and hearing advice and also am more than happy to lend some advice on what exactly I do for workouts that may help others more than my own workouts help me. If anyone has questions in regards to anything about me please feel free to message me I am more than happy to share my stories.
i weigh 193 lbs. i am 5'6", had a baby in aug 2008, breastfeeding, married to a personal trainer. i cant lose weight. i was at 144 before meeting my husband and getting preg. i want to be there again, but he says i love you the way you are, your so beautiful, blah blah blah. news flash i dont love me right now. i miss being fit and looking and feeling good, hell i felt great. i want that back, i had so much energy and had so much self esteem. now i just want to hide again.
i have been afraid to cut my calories to much, for fear i would cut my milk supply down, but sometimes i think i should stop breastfeeding so i can cut cals take diet pills and work myself out. then i think when do i have time to workout. i am just a mess.
Hi all!
I too am in this same struggle. I'm 21, 197.5lbs @ 5'9". My real wake-up call was last week when after a month at the gym I had gained from being about 185 up to 200 lbs! I used to be in fantastic shape when I was in high school and really involved in sports and dance and was constantly moving. Ever since I have put weight, but now I really have to turn the trend around.
To help me push towards this goal I have decided to enter the Miss Missouri USA competition which is the October 30th - November 1st. I competed in pageants all my life but stopped about 2 years ago because I was too embarrased to let my pageant friends see how out of shape I've gotten. I know that the fear associated with being on stage in a bikini should help me along. I go to the gym about 4-5 days a week now and I eat low calorie and low fat. I don't agree with the super skinny ideal that some of these pageants promote but I certainly believe in myself and being able to show of my progress and being healthy.
I hope making friends here will help me towards all of my goals and hopefully help others along their way as well!
Tonya, have you tried yoga? It is a low-impact enough exercise that should be okay for your post-partum body, but it still burns fat. The Women's Health magazine website has a list of different yoga workouts that you could look into.
Ehallman, that's an awesome goal! How has your progress been so far?
bcarpe18, thanks for the idea, i will look into it, i have always wanted to try yoga.
ehallman, i also hope by making friends on cc will help me stay accountable for my weight and help me keep my goal insight. btw 20 years class reuion coming aug 1, (husbands, exwife will be there!).
Hi, im 19, and 175 lbs. ill be your buddy! i need the motivation too!
my first thought is to not eat, but that wont work. i hate eating, but in the most twisted way i love it. crazy
I do that, except I enjoy food. I want to lose the weight, but I'm either so self-conscious of what I'm eating that I don't eat at all or I'm so "hungry" and attracted to the comfort food brings that I binge.
There's no middle ground for me. Plus I hate cooking, so we eat a lot of takeout. :( I've been putting off getting in the kitchen because I think all the recipes will be too hard and I'll just botch them.
bcarpe18, ok here is an idea, get the body for life, cookbook by bill phillips. it has great info in it and the recipes are easy and quick. i love that book and that is how i lost all my weight the first time. went from 198 to 133, with that book and its awesome info.
so now you ask "y aren't you doing it" well i need to, just got to get back into it. right now i will go get that book and try, i will.
but you no i also use food for comfort like so many other people in this world, when i have a bad day food makes it better. i have a daycare so stress is at a max, and sometimes at the end of the day i cram food in my mouth till i feel sick. nice huh.
I will look into getting the cookbook! Thanks for the tip.
I do the exact same thing. I used to be bulimic, and now after I binge I still feel that need to purge. But I don't, which is a good thing. It doesn't make me feel any less disgusted with myself though. So ultimately instead of making me feel better, food makes me feel worse.
