Need cardio help!
Okay-so I have no exercise routine. I envy you all.:P
If I try to do cardio in the family room, they come from all corners of the house to pester me to do something only I can possibly do for them.
I love to walk, but don't love to take the kids-can't get my heart rate up walking at the speed of a three year old. :P Husband works nutty hours driving truck, so I can't count on him to watch the kids while I go alone.
Right now, I do yoga and toning in the morning and dance around my house like a dork with my ipod on while I do housework.
Any ideas?

LMAO. How many kids do you have?
Maybe you could get up earlier and do some type of exercise video. When I first started exercising I used to do Richard Simons Videos - I know, You can laugh :) but it got the job done. Now I have an elliptical so I don't do them much, but there are definately a lot of goods one out there.
Try "BeachBodies" Power 90 (workout video).
I have three if you include the husband-they just can't seem to stand it when they're not the centre of my attention. Even the cat comes to pester me with the gang. :P
I guess I can try to get up earlier, but I already get up at 6:30am-another half hour would probably do it.
I'll check out the video you suggested, dvang-thanks.:)

choc my kids get scared when mommy exercises! I exercise in the basement so before I go down, I make sure they have gone to the potty, give them a morning snack and as bad as it sounds I put a movie in that I know they both like. They know not to bother mommy....slappy can be scary!
Ugh-lucky you!
I can't use the basement-husband has it all set up as a recording studio, I couldn't move around in there if I tried. lol Only room I've got is the family room...I think I'm going to have to get hardcore about naptime around here.

My kids are all grown up now but I used to do a sort of babysitting coop with another stay at home Mom. Could you swing a deal like that? It was great because you get some time to yourself and your kids are with another Mom you know and trust and it only costs you some of your time to repay the favor!
That's a good idea-I should ask around and see if any of the moms I know want to tape their kids to a chair too. :P
Hahaha, that was hilarious chocorific!
I dont have any kids, but I always get pestered by the students i tutor the second I go to the gym, never fails!

Hey, have you looked under the activities thingie about having kids in tow when doing something? You burn extra calories! check it out! I was ecstatic, and I almost always have my 5 year old with me - she loves to shop and exercise!
Chocorific, that was a hilarious reponse to my suggestion - you sound like you have a very similar sense of humor to mine! Do you ever get strange looks? I told someone the other day that I told my teenage daughter I was going to tape a baby picture of her to the fridge so I could remember when I loved her!! SHE knew I was kidding and laughed but my friend looked mortified! LOL
I go to the YMCA in Canada and they have reasonable rates for moms who want to work-out but their kids are too small (or to weak ;) to join them. I'm sure there are other gyms out there that do the same thing...that is, if you want to join a gym.
I used Tony Little's workout videos when I didn't belong to a gym! They worked well for me! Although, I'm not a fan of his hair...I guess it just motivated me to work faster and harder so I could turn it off!!!! Oh yeah, and a roommate of mine had Cindy Crawford's videos...they were sensual; but, good exercises! I think the women watched them for the excercises and the men..well, men will be men...

I used to belong to the YMCA a while ago-but it's almost 20 minutes from my house, and the parking is a nightmare. I love the gym near my house, but the babysitting is cost prohibitive. lol-I'll have to wait for that until my youngest starts school in September.
LOL-I get looks from people all the time that don't quite 'get' me. The other day my three year old was complaining that he 'couldn't want to' go home-so I told him 'fine. I'll drop you off somewhere else along the way'. Lady in line behind me nearly tripped over her jaw. ^_^
I've decided that until then, I'm gonna have to break out the old rollerblades and see if I remember how. Wish me luck! XD

i got two words for you "JUMP ROPE".
Miss my rollerblades! I love all the taping to a chair and the pic on the fridge guys! if my kids are acting up I threaten to tell the preschool teacher! LOL my daughter says she is like a grandma but special! So if I tell her Im going to tell her teacher, she is a lot better! her teacher thinks my daughter can do no wrong, they have a special relationship, so it would break my daughters heart if her teacher thought she wasnt being good. Girl just chase them around the house! you will get lots of exercise!
ROFL slappy!
I was thinking of something a little easier on my temper than chasing the monkies around the house. :P
Once it's warm I'll just have to drag my three year old out and walk his little legs to stubs. A slowish walk is better than no walk at all, right? XD
(I really just plan to haul the wagon out of the basement and toss him into it for my walks-I just want to wait for that until it's warmer. He's a skinny lil thing and can't stand the cold!)
