So I have been doing extremely well so far. 17 pounds I have lost and very proud of myself! I have good will power and self control and have been eating very healthy and exercising. But that all seems to want to go out the window when it is a couple days before my monthly friend!!!! I have the urge to eat everything! I haven't...but pretty close last night. I AM STARVING all day long! Last night I wanted to eat anything that was bad for me and lots of it at like 8:00! I stopped eating at night so I didnt want to do it but I felt like I have never eaten before and it was all I could think about! I settled for some special k with Berries which filled me up but I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and how they control it...tonight is another night and I am afraid I will lose the willpower! The Sabres are playing (my favorite) and it is FRIDAY! HELP!

Oh I know what you mean!  I always crave carbs for about three days before I start.  I will allow myself to have some comfort food then.  I am a bread lover so I will make me two huge pieces of sourdough toast and spread real butter on them which comes to about 300 calories total.  That helps me because the toast is warm, crunchy, chewy, and it tastes soooooo good.

I also take a break from strenious exercise during that three to four day period.  If I go to the gym I will usually only do cardio at a moderate pace.

I believe that you need to pamper yourself a few days a month anyway.  Just stay away from the salt and remain aware of the calorie content of whatever your comfort food is and relax for a day or two.

thanks! I cant even barely stay awake let alone exercise during this time! I hate it! I am starving, I have 0 energy and I am soooo EVIL! I cant even stand myself! I am a bread lover too so I think I will try that next time I need something...that sounds YUMMY!!!!

Fellow Sabres fan here (can you say pizza and wings)!!! 

 Honestly if you indulge a little during TTOM, don't stress.  A lot of people actually recommend eating a little more now and then just to keep you body and metabolism on its toes.  Just try to balance the not so good for you food with veggies and other good food. 

Also, just in case you don't know (I didn't for awhile and got a little freaked out about it), your weight will probably go up regardless of what you eat (water weight) and will drop off within a couple of days after it is over.
Hey, HK didn't know you were a Buffalo guy.  I moved up here and gained a ton of weight because as you know they fry everything and the only thing to do in the winter is sit in a bar and drink.  Not to mention that there are hardly any healthy restaurants with a good salad here. 

Ok, I'm going to stop now because this isn't really related to the post.
I LOVE THE SABRES!!! Its nice to hear from other Sabres fans!!!! I should have known better than to write No boys allowed! Of course your gonna peak! Well I am sure the last thing you want to read about is "girl time" so thats what ya get for peaking!!!! Anyway thanks for the input!!!! AND

LETS GO BUFFALO!!! WOO HOO!!!! Doesnt get any better than them boys!

hmmm....now you got me craving pizza and wings!!!! it just might be a bad day for Ronae here in Buffalo!!!! I could have my 4 favorites things tonight and regret it tomorrow...

kcnae3, some suggestions..

For this weekend, watch the Sabres game, but load down with cut vegetables (Celery, Carrots, whatever) and a low-fat ranch sauce :)

That way you can enjoy the game without the cal dump :)

Also, try drinking less beer and more water. Water's all around good for you and has 0 calories. :)
Ya I know I will be good! It is nice to fantasize about it though...When it comes down to it I would have to much guilt to eat and drink the bad stuff. If I have any beer it would probably be 1 coors light! I am not a big drinker so I am not to worried about that. But I think i will make a vegie tray...good idea! I can pick at that and not feel guilty!! Maybe I will have 1 glass of red wine instead of the beer..not as bad for me... Thanks HK!

How long until the weight goes away? I am on my last day and still a pound and a half heavier. . . .
i dont know the answer to that but I decided I am not weighing myself from now (cuz I am bloated) until it is over for two days. Even on the last day you can still be a little bloated...So thats my plan...
OMG!  TTOTM and pre-week is the worst time for me!  I am always hungry, and I mean famished kind of hungry.  I want to eat everything in sight and then some.  I have posted elsewhere on this subject as well.

I try to drink lots of extra water to keep myself as full as you can get with that....but then it kills me with the bloat too. 

I also stay off the scale 1 week before and 1 week after, it's just safer, because for me if the scale goes up, even if I know its TOM weight, I will give up and binge...I do not know why I do this.... so I avoid the scale completely as to not cause myself this unwanted efect.
Dang, I don't know what it is but during TTOM I am RAVENOUS despite how much I eat. I feel like I am starving and eat the whole freaking time.
I always crave steak, ice cream, and doritos during ttom. And I get the ravenous thing, too. I settle on staring longingly at the food in the fridge and torturing my hubby! MWAHAHA!
I don't so much feel hungry duing TTOTM but I crave sweet things a hundred times more than usual. Chocolate...biscuits...cake...

Strangely enough though my TOTM snuck up on me this morning (I wasn't expecting it for another week and I'd had zero PMT/PMS as a warning) and today I feel fine...no cravings at all.

What's the matter with me? Not that it's a bad thing...
i have been to buffalo spent a week there in summer of 1995.....i loved it.

reading all theses comments makes me laugh .. i though i was the only one who could eat there way through TTOM.  i have learned to stop beating  my self up and just cut everything i want in half during that time.. some  times i have no craving others are so bad i ate 3 oatmeal creme pies.... 4 no bake cookes, 10 pack snickers fun size... and i am sure much more that i cant remember...

so have hope you are not alone just have more will power then most....lol
