Need A Good High-Protein Snack
I live in a dorm and can only microwave and use a hot pot. I also have a fridge and access to a freezer. What's a good snack I can keep on hand to boost the amount of protein I get daily? Since I've been back to school I've been 10-20 grams under daily and I can't seem to get enough protein from the cafeteria. Thanks so much!

fage yogurt, boca burgers or patties, peanut butter, edamame
low fat cottage cheese, like 12 g protein for 1/2 cup and 80 cals
I live in a dorm room and am also horrible for getting enough protein, but I have really been trying to get more. I usually always have yogurt, cheesestrings(yes I know...), cottage cheese, cans of tuna, and milk always on hand. HTH

If you want something easy to make yet, full of protein, have Whey Protein...it's cheaper and a lot less calories, and fat than meat. It's a powder that you can mix with water or make it into a shake...you'll get plenty of protein their.

Seeds and nuts. Add things like flax to food you already eat.
fage yogurt with kashi golean cereal rocks.
tuna!! its super high protein! also check out the worlds healthiest food site, they tell you about sources of protein on there.
I always start out my day with a slim fast high protein shake - you can get the powdered version and it will last you way longer and is much less bulky than trying to carry around the cans. It's surprisingly yummy!
Almonds- good source of fiber too.
Beef jerky is high protein and fairly low in fat.
Both are easy to store staples and eating small snacks throughout the day keeps hunger (and overeating at mealtime) away.
Luna Bars. They taste like cookies almost, but they're packed with vitamins and minerals, and have 10 grams of protein. At Walmart you can buy a box so that they cost a little less than a dollar each, so they're good for emergencies or when you're on the run and they don't go bad.
Whey protein powder or tuna. I use Iso-Pro vanilla flavour (30g a scoop @ 130 calories), and mix it in a glass of 1% milk. The tubs cost a lot initially but they last forever.
If I know I haven't had enough protein I eat half a tin of tuna. You can also do egg whites in the microwave.
TRY Balance Bare...15 grams of protein and 14 of carbs...you need a balance...ala drsears.com...good luck and study hard...drink plenty of water too.
Odwalla bars are really good - the Super Protein one packs 16g of protein and its really pretty tasty.
