Need good running songs!
My ipod and my ears are tired of hearing the same old songs during my morning runs... can anyone lend any suggestions on good pump-you-up type of songs that will keep me going during my runs?
I find i listen to mostly rock, heavy metal, and dance songs, with a little bit of hip hop thrown in there. Anything to keep me moving!
Thanks!
Will Smith: Getting Jiggy with it.
Shaggy: Mr. Lover
Shaggy: Mr. Boombastic
Rolling Stones: Start me up
TLC: No Scrubs
TLC: Creep
Finger Eleven-Paralyzer
This may sound silly, but I love the theme song to iCarly. It's available on iTunes, and it is inspiring, somehow! *blush* Search for Drake Bell, I think, or Miranda Cosgrove. It's a show my kids watch.
I am sorry for saying this but those songs are soooo played out that I'm sure she is already tired of hearing them.. Maybe you posted them as a joke. In that case. Hahah. ;) I do like Will Smith though.
Try some of these:
Limp Bizkit- Break Stuff!, Nookie, Rollin
Candlebox (anything off 1st album)
Crazy Town- Butterfly
Fergie- London Bridge
Gnarles Barkley- Gone Daddy Gone
Joe Satriani- Flying in a Blue Dream
Kanye West- Stronger
Linkin Park- Bleed it out
Melissa Ethridge- Bring me some water
Nelly Furtado- Man Eater
Puddle of Mudd- Psycho
Missy Elliott- Hot Boyz
Kid Rock- Cocky
Garanteed to get you pumped!!

No joke. I appreciate all kinds of music, new and old. Everyone has their own opinions on music. She asked for suggestions so I posted mine. Music does not expire. ![]()
Any Metallica from before 2000 pretty much.
Some Cowboy Mouth- Easy, Jenny Says, Why You Wanna Do Me?, Drummer Man, Let Me Hold it Open... You have to be selective with Cowboy Mouth... Some stuff is really good, some is way too country for my tastes... LOL
Some Garbage- Breaking up the Girl, When I grow up, I'm Only Happy when it Rains, Cherry Lips, Special
Jimi Hendrix
Beatles
Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the Devil, You Can't Always Get What You Want, Start Me Up
AC/DC
Offspring
Linkin Park
Papa Roach
Nine Inch Nails
I'm a big fan of 80's rock/pop/dance too, so these are the kinds of things that are on my playlists... LOL
If you need some pretty heavy metal or thrash:
-Mors Principium est (I have the album "The Unborn)
-In flames
-Slayer
I have used all 3 in interval sessions and they work very well for the sprinting section, especially Mors Principium est.
If you're just jogging, you can try:
-Iron Maiden
-Korpiklaani (an interesting mix of metal and folk music from somewhere in Europe)
-Flogging Molly (mix of Irish folk and rock)
In the Hip-hop category:
- Deltron 3030 (forgot the name of the album, but I think there's only one)
- EL-p - Fantastic Damage (you should find the instrumentals only version if you can, his rapping isn't too great in this album, but the tracks are pretty great)
- Rjd2
- Aesop Rock - Build your own Bazooka Tooth (another album where just the instrumentals are basically better by themselves)
-Aceyalone - Magnificent City (the whole album)
-Cunninlynguists - Will Rap For Food (the album, not the song)
That's all I can come up with for now, let me know what you think.
Not exactly of the genres you usually listen to, but my current favorites are:
- Gonna Fly Now (the theme from Rocky)
- Born to Run - Springsteen
- Theme from Chariots of Fire (yes, it's a bit corny)
- Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash
Good luck finding songs that work for you!
Traffic- Tiesto
Adagio for Strings- Tiesto
Devour- Shinedown
Hard to Say I'm Sorry- Rock Dance Party (find on iTunes)
Way Away- Yellowcard
Who's Going Home With You Tonight- Trapt
Headstrong- Trapt
Stare at the Sun- Thrice
Pain- Three Days Grace
Every Single Day- Benassi Bros.
If you like these and want more suggestions, just let me know ![]()

Nine Inch Nails - Just Like You Imagined/Pilgrimage/10 Miles High (can you tell I love NIN?)
