OK, today i went to a chinese buffet (jimmy chung's) and i well.. stuffed myself :P

I ate so much that if i burp i can feel all the cake i ate :S

i would apreciate if you could help me to get the calories on what i ate... here is what i ate:

first with this bowl:

i ate like half filled of chicken sweet corn soup and other with sweet and sour chicken soup which i have no clue how much calories they had, but their texture was a bit greasy.

then 2 big FULL plates, the first plate had with 1/4 sweet sour fried chicken, 1/4 curry chiken, 1/4 fried chicken and 1/4 fried chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce. The 2nd plate had 1/4 egg fried rice, 1/4 fried noodles, 1/4 of other type of fried noodles and 1/4 with again sweet and sour fried chicken. << i mean the plates were FULLLL... and big haha :P.

THENNN for desert:

half of this cake:

(well the cake was not that tall, was like flatter, but mainly it looked the same :L)

2 vanella ice cream balls(medium, like the size of... hmmm idk, just a normal ice spoon :P

anddd two fried banana balls with syrup.

ok, if i had to calculate this(which im totaly not sure, thats why im askin for help hehe) i would say that this is:

150 each soup x 2

600 each plate(even a bit more?) x 2

800 kcal for the half cake??

150 each vanilla ball :P x 2

150 each banana ball with syrup x 2

sooo with what i said was 2300 kcal... hmm so what would you say??? more, less?

This might be one of those meals where you don't count and call it a free day. It would be almost impossible to estimate the calories, and even if you do come up with a figure it's likely to be off by a lot. Why not just drink some water and not worry about it?

I tried at one time to count the calories of a meal at a Chinese buffet and it freaked me out so much that I don't go at all anymore.

Each full plate has a lot more than 600, because they put a lot of sugar in everything and there is a lot of fat too.  Anyway, I stopped counting when I reached close to 4000 Calories Surprised.

So that probably sets you back a full week on weight loss.  But hey why not, if you are willing to pay that price from time to time to indulge yourself Smile.

Sorry to say but with all the fried food and sugar you're probably looking at 5000 calories plus...

Oh yeah, with a plate full of fried food and pasta/rice, they were WAY more than 600 each.  And the soup, I'm thinking 150 wouldn't come close.  I agree with cosmographer, just forget about trying to log it and move on.

Yeah, I'd say about double what you calculated.  Each of those plates might have had 2000 cals just by themselves.  Best just to forget about it and start again tomorrow.

This is the problem with counting.  It takes the fun out of food.  I never eat anything I don't know the calories of anymore.

Ditto. Frown And there's so much good stuff I'm missing! LOL

this is precisely why i learned to make my own chinese/indian/vietnamese food. so i can cater to my own numbers and make it perfect for me. next time, try making some good stuff at home. then you can count easier. and its still tasty

I've tried this too, I just can't get the taste down perfectly though. It's a good substitute, but nothing like the real thing. Maybe you should cook for me. Tongue out

haha...i love cooking and baking and all that. if i had more time i'd spend it in the kitchen for sure.

im actually making sushi tonight.
