I could really use help figureing out a good exercise plan
- 5'7" 155lbs (down from 175lbs since end of March) weight in midsection 33yo mother of 15 month old twins (was 235 at delivery)
- About 45 minutes to exercise 4 days a week (during nap so I can't leave the house)
- Eat between 1300 and 1500 cal's a day (around B+ foods) sometimes more if I get a big workout in but try to have 500-750 cal deficite
- Have treadmill that can go up to 10mph and 10 incline, exercise ball, weight lifting machine that can do 75+ exercises (from legs, arms, row, back, chest, abs)
- I can run 3.5 slow miles in 45 minutes but no time to work on anything else
What are people's suggestions? Should I focus on cardio or do weights? I hate weights and think I am more lazy about them. How about the ab ball? I know I am lucky to have this equipment at home but how do I best use it in such a short time? Kids hate going for walks because they want to move and not sit still!
Please help I want to look 1/2 way decent for summer!
My suggestion would be to hire a trainer or go buy a book on core training. There are a lot of exercises you can do without weights that just use your own body weight. I hired a trainer and by the fourth or fifth time you get a sense of what you need to do. You stated you have exercise ball....there are many core traning exercises you can do with the ball. Good luck!!
Thanks for the info but a trainer is out of the question. I don't have any time (husband works from 5 am to 7 pm and we don't have an extra dime to our name so I need to make it work with what I got.
I just want to commend you for your dedication to exercise and diet when you have your hands so full! I am just starting out on my program, but I have tried Pilates in the past and it was VERY challenging. If you haven't tried it yet, you might want to get a dvd and give it a try :)
Thanks for the suggestion. I have not tried pilates yet... it looks hard. I am not very coordinated (was an athlete in HS) but still not coordinated so it would probably be good for me.
I am just haveing a hard time deciding what I should concentrate on Cardio, weights, or should I do 2 days of each a week. I didn't even think of videos. Ugh now more to sort through.
Thanks!!!
