I need help!

So a few months ago, I was eating really healthy and lost about 20 pounds. I wasn't ever hungry, I exercised, and it just seemed a lot easier to stick to my diet.

But now, I can't go two days without cheating and eating a bunch of really bad junk food. Then, once my stomach is so close to popping, I throw the rest of the food away, saying I'm never going to do that again. Then, three days later, I start back up again.

I dont know how to keep from bingeing and wasting money on junk food. It's so hard when I have these cravings, because I don't care if i cheat or not. I just want to eat! But if I was able to eat healthy before, how can I start back up again? I've tried everything, but once my cravings kick in, its like i dont want anything else than to eat bad foods. I just wish I could eat healthy and exercise, without getting any cravings at all.

What could I do during the day to keep from getting bored and eating out of boredom?

If you have any advice, anything would help!

take up knitting, reading, do sudoku or crossword puzzles, paint your toenails, rearrange your closet, go through your file cabinet/desk and clean it out, straighten your hair, pluck your eyebrows, clean out your make up drawer/box, look up new recipes, find interesting songs/make playlists on itunes, start sketching, take up photography, uuum...take a bubble path, wash your car, or you could go on a walk, talk on the phone to a friend, or take a nap!!

that was off the top of my head, i hope you find something that tickles your fancy!!

Plan ahead.  Make a menu plan for the week, then make a shopping list based on that plan.  When you're in the store, try to shop around the perimeter where you find the produce, meat, fish, dairy and bread.  Only go into the specific aisles to find the other things on your list.  Skip the snack and soft drink aisles entirely.

Log your day's meals in advance.  If you have to, print it out and tick off each item as you eat it.

With careful planning you can succeed.

I'm in the exact same place. After achieving so much, its like I have the "right" to give in. I'm furiously trying to "re-learn" my good behaviours. The worst thing for me is that I won't waste money - so if I buy a bag of chips, and open the bag of chips, I'm going to finish the bag of chips! So what I'm doing is NOT buying the chips in the first place!

I've had some arguments with myself in the grocery store that I'm sure made me look insane to any onlookers, but I always feel better when the "good me" wins.

When you want to eat, have a cup of green tea, a bowl of fruit salad, or a few raw almonds. Its not as fun as a bag of chips, but it fills the gap!

Reading your note made me think "that's me, I might had well written this".

We need to re-gain the control on our actions and on our bodies. My clothes do not fit me anymore, I feel heavy and look like another person now.

I am trying hard to avoid crap, junk food, I believe that stress is one of the keys to me but that cannot become an "excuse", I cannot stuff myself only because I am stressed or bored or because I like the "transgressive" side of eating bad-for-me food.

We can do it and all the suggestions given by Chrissy 1988 are going to be very helpful, as a start.

Maybe try to stop thinking you have to avoid certain foods: the more you feel them as "forbidden" the more you will crave for them.

I will do the same, hope we both get there soon.
