Ok so im 5'3 and 110 lbs. i feel like a fatass and I cant seem to go below 110 its so fr ustrating :( does anyone know how i ca n drop 10 lbs in a month?
Healthy body weight range for you is 104 to 127. Maybe just lift some weights and tone up?
You may feel fat, however you are actually underweight for your height. Instead of loosing 10 pounds this month (which would put you at severely underweight) why not use this month to figure out why you feel fat when you are not?
Please get some professional help.

i dont look underweight tho maybe i have a high body fat percentage
First of all uncleben, everything in your questions sends me a whole bunch of red flags...5'3 110 lbs, fatass, lose 10 lbs fast??? I think it would be in your best interest to have a look at your stats (ie. calorie intake, BMI etc) and then review the question you have. Not that I do not understand the problem of poor self image, but it does not sound like weight is an issue and from someone is who 5'3 and 159 lbs...I have some weight to lose but I would not call myself a fatass either =) If support is what you need you have come to the right place but I dont think anyone here is going to push you to lose another 10 lbs in a month....
well my BMI is avergae so im not underweight or anything..and a month isnt that fast for 10 lbs is it?
Uncleben, 110 is underweight according to your height, I guess I dont know your age but I would have to say that your goal of 100 would be underweight. Do you mind me asking how old you are?
i'm 17
If you try to use the tools on this site it will say that you are considered underweight where you are right now....if you want to lose another 10 lbs you would definately be underweight. I think in my opinion too, 10 lbs is alot of weight for someone whos body might try and hold on to what little weight they have. I do know that there are people who are at a good weight or even under that find when they look in the mirror they see 'fat spots'. I am sure though that you are probably harder on yourself than you need to be and you have to be comfortable in your own skin and not take unhealthy risks to try and fix something that is either not there or never going to go away....I hope this makes sense...besides calling yourself 'fatass' doesn't help you feel better about yourself...
you shouldnt lose any more, the first thing you need to be happy with your weight is to not feel ashamed of it. i experienced the "i feel fat" thing after i lost my weight, and yes i continued to lose even more weight until i was sickly thin.
losing more weight will only lower the amount of muscle you have , and hence lower your metabolism, and make you sicker. so please dont lose anymore.. ive seen it ruin many people, it almost ruined me....

At your age and current height / weight, I would not look into dieting for weight loss.
If you have a high fat percentage (did you get this tested or just assuming based on your perception of your body [which is often not accurate]), then your best bet is to up your activity level.
Do some cardio and lift weights. Low weights lifted for many reps will not bulk, but will tone your body. The cardio will help with the fat reduction.
Instead of cutting food out to diet, look into eating healthy foods and getting a good balance of the food groups, with plenty of fiber. Drink alot of water.
An important thing to remember is that when you work out, you need to eat more to ensure that your body has enough energy to function properly. If you cut the calories, your body will think its is starving (well, actually, it is), and will not let go of the weight.
At 17, your body is still growing.

Have you ever seen pictures of starving children? I believe usually they look like they have a big belly, yet they are staving. Maybe you fit in that group, I don't know. Seek help for self image and make sure that you are eating enough for a growing young person. You most likely are hurting yourself by not eating enough.

Based on your age, weight and height, your BMI is too low. You are underweight.

Honey, did you know that your brain doesn't stop growing until around age 21? At 17, please do not attempt a diet. You'll short-change your brain of the fats, carbs and proteins it needs to reach its full potential.
In the meantime, it's a great idea to learn proper nutrition (i.e., no junk foods, trans fats, eat lots of whole grains, fruits and veggies, etc), provided you don't attempt to create a calorie deficit. Also to ingrain good exercise habits now, while you are young, to last you a lifetime.
Incidentally you may not even be done growing ... I grew another full inch sometime between age of 17 and 21.
My suggestions are:
1) Throw away your scale
2) Get rid of any fashion magazines you're reading... they can give women a very distorted self-image and research shows that most of us feel horrible and get depressed when we are shown images of skinny models. If you want to read a magazine, try something like Self which has normal weight, healthy sized models
3) Limit your t.v. watching - for the very same reason
4) Get moving. Take up a sport that you love and can do the rest of your life. Running, dancing, skating, biking, yoga, pilates.
5) Consider weight training but only under supervision because at 17 your joints and bones are probably still growing.

i would definitely NOT focus on losing weight and dieting
because of your age...AND i do agree that u are underweight, but not so much
Try being active, just healthy exercise, make it fun. like rollerblading, ice skating, swimming =]
to jenmcc i dont wanna look like a model. i dont read fashion magazines n feel depressed. i wanna look more petite, that's all cuz fat doesnt look good when you' re short. and i beleive my bmi is 20 which is average so i dont kno why people are saying im underweight
when you use the tools from this site you will find at your age and height that you are 19.5 which is in the underweight catagory. If you want to lose another 10 lbs it will make you well below. Sometimes uncleben we have a unclear self image and it can be distorted by what we see in other people. When people are telling you to seek help, it is only because we are hearing things from you that are alarming and signs of a deeper more mental issue than just your physical weight. This may be hard for you to see or hear but at your age you shouldnt be so concerned about looking fat...you are not overweight and not everyone is petite and this is not something someone can acheive through dieting either....good luck!!!
but technically i am petite i have a small frame n im short i just wanna look less chunky n i want my waist to be at 24 inches
Hey, I am the same height as you :) Generally a healthy weight for people our height is between 104 lb and 140 lb. The BMI calculator here is a bit rigid I think and doesn't seem to take into account a wide variety of frame sizes, so I go by the one my doctor uses (which considers healthy to be a BMI of 18.5 to 25). You are already at the lower end, so I doubt that losing more weight is going to help you achieve the results you want. I would really recommend talking to someone (a professional) about your body image troubles, and look into some sort of exercise programme or personal training. It sounds to me like your weight issues largely stem from a bit of teenage angst (hey, I still have it and I'm nearly 25 :P), and in order to avoid these issues becoming really detrimental to your physical and psychological health I think that dealing with them pro-actively now will save you a lot of heartache in the future. You are NOT fat, but maybe you need to tone up? I don't think dieting at this stage is what you need, but by all means if you eat badly then try making some more informed choices. There are plenty of resources on this website to help with that.
You said you want your waist to be small--that's fine, but remember that we are all built differently. I have a small waist but I have big hips. Goodness knows I wish I had slim, boyish hips that look great in skinny jeans. Sadly, even if I lost a HUGE amount of weight I would probably still have bigger hips because that's just the shape I am. Don't kill yourself going after something that might be unrealistic for your body type.
Finally, yes, a month is extremely fast to lose 10 lb, especially when you are already at a low weight. I do not recommend you lose 10 lb. Healthy weight loss is at a rate of 1-2 lb per week (usually slower). Otherwise it is most likely that you are eating too little.

well thats the thing i have small waist potential im at 25 right now and i heard that 1 size = 10 lbs so thats why i decided on 10 lbs.. but i guess i could try to do it in 2-3 months instead of 1 ?
Well, here's the problem. I do not recommend that you lose the 10 lb, because whether you lose the weight fast or slowly, you'll still be underweight ;) Here is my suggestion:
You could exercise more. Don't just focus on your stomach--make sure you are doing strength training that benefits your whole body. If you don't know what proper strength training entails then look it up. It won't make you bulky, it will just make you lean and strong. Make sure you are doing a sensible amount of cardio. Do not diet. Eat a sensible amount of food to fuel yourself so that you are strong for working out, and also have enough nutrients so that your bones are strong and your skin looks great and your hair is shiny and your eyes don't lose their sparkle (because all of this goes to shit if you are under-nourished). If your waist is meant to be 24 inches, then it will be 24 inches. If not then it won't be, but I guarantee that you will look so good otherwise that you don't care. It's only one inch--it is not worth making yourself sick for.
Also, I strongly advise you to re-read some of the advice that you have received from people here as regards your body image :) You seem to be skipping those parts and only latching on to what suits you, i.e. anything that you think will help you achieve an unhealthy goal. Look after yourself :)
