I need HELP!

A girl I was very close friends with for years but haven’t spoken to for awhile died in a car crash on Monday.  I can’t make it to the visitation or the funeral but I am sending flowers to her mom.  What the heck should the card say?  Everything I can come up with sounds so phony.  Any ideas?
