Need help MAINTAINING my new weight.

Quote  |  Reply
I started gaining weight at the end of highschool and my first two years of college so At the beginning of the summer I began to exercise a few times a week. When I came back to America I started speed walking on the treadmill everyday of the week and eating 1200-1350 calories a day. (5 mini meals.) I have reached my goal weight of 110 (used to be 125.) I'm very happy about that however I do NOT want to lose anymore weight OR gain weight either. I just want to stay the way I am.

I'm going to continue speed walking on the treadmill 5-6 days a week for one hour(burns on average 220 calories). Are 1300-1400 calories a day enough? Please NOTE that I do NOT want to gain any weight back.  This new lifestyle change has fairly easy for me so it wouldn't bother me to stick to it. PLEASE HELP. ANY FEEDBACK WELCOME! Thanks.

This may help too: Other than speed walking on the treadmill and going to school Twice a week. My days mostly consist of studying, cleaning the house, working on the computer. Unless I'm out at one of my buddhist meetings or going out for coffee with friends. Not much of a party or athletic girl. Also, I'm about 5'3 and 20 years old.

33 years old, been down to my goal weight MANY times, have never been able to maintain, but usually never gain back more than 10 or so pounds before I take it off again.   But I will check back and hopefully someone has some good advice for you!  I would love to read it too!
Thanks. For now, I'll be sticking to working out 5 times a week (burning about 220 calories each time) and eating 1300-1400 calories a day. ANY ADVICE OR TIPS WELCOME.
My guess is that if you stick to 1300 to 1400 calories you'll continue to lose weight, although you might not notice it at first. I weigh about 111 and am 5'2.5". I've been eating around 1600 calories and have still been losing gradually over the last month. I burn about 400 calories on average a day biking and walking, maybe some yoga once a week.

Sorry to say but from my own experience it's easy not to worry much if another pound slips away, and once it's gone, I don't really want to see it come back. I suppose if too many slip away I'll be "underweight." Just something to consider.
