Need help and motivation to start :]
My cousin and I have started to try and lose weight together i weigh 147 and am 5"2 my goal is to weigh 110 lbs in a healthy way but i don't seem to see any changes . any one have good tips on foods, excersizes, and motivation?
I find the threads here extremely motivating. They're very rah rah rah. With regards to foods and such, there's some good low-cal recipes on here as well. Excersize.. well, I'm not really doing that yet. Lol. I've been on here for about 1.5 weeks now. My first goal is to get my portion control down first and to really set my mind to good foods as opposed to straying away to crap.
Hi Kimmmberlyyyy:
Congratulations on your weight loss campaing, with your cousin. Tell me more about your diet plan, your excercise routine, and so on. For now, make sure you dring 10 to 12 glasses of water a day, sometimes we are not eliminating enough. Is easy and free (well you know what I mean) then get yourself a good diet, like the D-Tour diet which is design for diabetics, but let me tell you, is fantastic. Also, get off your behind and start moving, try to walk a little more, a couple of crunches, dance enough to brake a sweat. Trust me you will see some great results, in the beginning you might not, but give a month and you see,
Weight yourself weekly and measure yourself every other week and you will have an AHA moment! I promise you that.
Congratulations on starting! In addition to the great advice above, I have a couple of tips that seem to work. Spread your meals out to 3 moderate meals and 3 healthy snacks, or, even better, 6 small meals a day. There's something about that slow, steady march of low-calorie meals that helps keep away hunger and keeps your metabolism working. The D-Tour Diet is great advice, so is the Instinct Diet, because these are based on food. Not processed food-like substances from your grocer's freezer, but actual fruit, veggies, lean protein and complex carbs. And stay away from any scheme that charges you money (other than a gym, of course!). There are no magic pills or "secret berries" that will do any better than a healthy diet and exercise.
And don't fret about the holidays. The biggest thing you can do is change your attitude towards food and how you eat. Of course there are special occasions where you can let loose and enjoy yourself, remembering there are many ways to enjoy yourself that don't include food (dancing comes to mind). They're called holidays and family celebrations (birthdays, anniversaries, etc). Just remember, Thanksgiving is special. Fridays are not, and you'll be fine.

So you can keep track of what you eat - which enables you to analyze your foods and receive the following:
- Health Score of your overall diet
- Warning when you approach your daily calorie limit
- Overview of the good and bad nutrients
