I started dieting last year. I had a very restrictive diet and kept my daily intake to around 1200kcals a day, someimtes i even only ate like 800kcals a day. I went from 130 lbs to 100 lbs in six month's time. I was so pleased with myself, although some said I was too thin and asked me to gain a bit weight.
Recently there were some family problems and I began to pick up the habit of binging at night. I gained back all theweight, and I went from 100lbs to 125 lbs in a month's time. Every night I would say to myself : right tonight's the last night that i binge, I'll start afresh tomorrow. And tomorrow the same happens again and the cycle repeats again and again. I feel so depressesd. Moreover, I'm entering uni this year and everyone around me seems so thin and slim! I feel so ugly, and this further crushes me and I lose my willpower to lose weight. I really regret binging at the first place and I just can't regain the level of control and restrain that made my weight lost successful before. What should I do?? I feel really down everyday I go on the scale, just to see it go up without stopping..... :( I am sooo angry and just hate hate hate myself for wasting all my efforts in the past six months!

I think you need to re-think your system for maintaining a healthy weight. The weight loss the first time was probably too rapid and thus you gained it back.
Check out The Calorie-Count.com diet posting under the Weight Loss forum. It will explain things really well and help get you started in the right direction.
Have you calculated you required caloric intake yet? It's important that you know that, because eating too few calories messes up the metabollism and makes maintaining a healthy weight almost impossible.
Lastly, don't give in to the "guilts" - it's a waste of time and I don't think worrying burns many calories! Start with right now, forget what you did wrong, and keep looking ahead. Take it one day (or food, snack, whatever) at a time!

thank for your advice, but right now, I want LOSE weight rather than to maintain it... I want to lose 10 pounds before halloween... is this a too ambitious goal?
10lbs by halloween is very possible.
That's 1.38lbs a week.
What helps me in binging is writing down what I'm going to eat for the day, and not cheat at all. If I cheat, I start binging.
It's just food. Don't let it control what you look like.
I haven't binged in forever, and I've realised how stupid I was to not be able to say "no" to food

I know.. .sometimes when I think back, enjoying the short moment of pleasure then feeling guilty for a few days makes binging SO NOT WORTH IT! but I hate myself for not being able to resist food.. afterall I am a food lover, thats what makes dieting soooo hard for me :(
Do you have a sexy dress in the size that you want to be? I hang mine on my bedroom door so I see it every day for added motivation.
Yeah in fact i have lot of clothes which fit me when I was 105 lbs but not now. However whenever I see them I just feel angry, depresed and sad. It reminds me of my fit figure when I succeeded in losing weight six months ago. Then I kept on blaming myself for sabotaging my efforts in the past. I guess for me to lose to 105lbs will normally requires like 3 months. When I think that I have to bear with my ugly, flabby fat body for another 3 months, i just want to die and give up!!! SO u see it's actually a vicious cycle- I give up, get fat, feel depressed, then give up again........ sigh.
I don't know you, so I don't know the normal way you talk or express yourself....but the language you use in your posts is very concerning. You said you 'hate, hate, hate myself' and that you just want to 'die and give up!!!' This doesn't seems to be a healthy response to being 25 lbs overweight. I'm not a counselor, but you may want to consider getting the perspective of one. Please take care of yourself.
^ I could be wrong but I think she's just really frustrated & it's reasonable to react emotionally like she is- better to express yourself, than to bottle it up...
sytso--- I'm not sure about your living environment, but try some things: get rid of the junk that you're binging on, if you like sweets- get some choices of fruits; during the day- eat your meals very slowly & let your stomach adjust to normal portions, always have water with your meals & at your side throughout the day, include everyone you can in your life & any sites (like CC) that are going to support you & your goals. I was very depressed & felt I think much the same way you do for the past year & had gained so much weight (after 3 kids & always slender my entire life), but after starting this diet & losing a few lbs. & changing the way I eat, has changed how I feel about me. I put junk in my body, I feel like crap. I start eating healthy & lose weight & I feel better. I know you can do it... Just don't give up! Good luck :)

The biggest thing you can do to prevent binging is to not let yourself get hungry. I eat 6-7 times a day (thats roughly every 2-3 hourse) it really works. Also, don't deprive yourself of your sweets. I eat two desserts a day, usually a fat-free pudding cup with lunch and all natural fruit popsicle with dinner. Eating lots of fruit also helps curb the cravings because they are full of good complex sugars. If all else fails I binge on green veggies till i have no room for anything else
binging is a behavior that we use to deal with stress and emotional problems. You need to redirect that behavior. It can ffeel really difficult because you have relied on it for so long, but the thing to remember is that it's not making you happy and there's a better way. You can redirect this destructive behavior by doing something different. Exercise is a great way to redirect. You'll feel the endorphins lift your mood and you'll be burning calories which will help you reach your weight loss goals. Writing in a journal is another alternative. There are a million healthy activities you could choose to do. you just neet to pick one!
As far as losing your weight by Halloween, it's totally possible! Use this websites allowance and expenditure tools to give you the number of cals you can take in each day. Others on this website are right, restricting your calories and losing weight too quickly makes it nearly impossible to keep the weight off. You need to give your body the time to do this correctly. I can guarantee you that it took you awhile to gain the weight, give yourself time to take it off!
Good Luck!
