I think this is a great website. I am experiencing few problems though. I have problems with logging the foods I consume as I do not find them (South African). Is there a way I can store my food information once so that i can just pull the info as and when i need to log certain food stuffs

On the food log screen there is a place to add your own foods based on nutrition labels. Once you have added the item, click on the small T at the end of the description so that you can tag it. Give it a tag name and then when you have that food item again just go to your tagged items and select from the list.

Another option would be to find an item in the log that is close enough to what you are eating.

But in all honesty, this is the best excuse to start eating more real food and less processed prepackaged stuff. A potato is a potato and a tablespoon of olive oil is a tablespoon of olive oil, and they have the same calorie count in the US or in SA.

I do a lot of cooking, and from many ethnic backgrounds.  The "new recipe" function under foods is my friend.  It takes a little practice to get good at entering recipes properly, but now I routinely enter a recipe, add a serving to my food log, tag it, and then I am set for the leftovers.  Since I very seldom make exactly the same thing, I don't bother to save the recipes themselves (with directions), but if it is something I know that I will make repeatedly, then I do save the recipe itself, not the serving.

Warning, even if you get a green flag it pays to check that it is entering the same thing you used.  The main problem areas I find have to do with whether the ingredient is cooked or raw, this can make a big difference in calories per serving if it didn't recognize what you really did.  If it gets it wrong, in the new tab it opened up, search for the correct version, up in the http line you will fine a number at the end of the string, copy that, go back to the recipe and paste the number into brakcets.  For example, cooked pinto beans would be [16343], raw pinto beans [16042].  500 grams of cooked beans has far fewer calories than 500 grams of raw beans!
