I need immediate help, experiences, advice...bloated out of control and doctor doesn't seem to be concerned!

Someone please help me!  I am bloated and literally look 4 months pregnant.  I don't have any pants that fit!  I'm not constipated and the doctor said that he doesn't think there is anything he can do.  This has been going on for 6 days.  He referred me to a gastro, but I need relief now!!!  I just found myself in an empty office crying.  I've only eaten soup today and refuse to eat anything solid until this goes away.  Please help, I think I'm going to get strecth marks soon.  What can I do to make this go away?!  I will post pictures once I get home from work, but I don't have a "before", so I'm not sure if you guys will get the full effect.  Is there anything I can do besides going to see a doctor that will tell me I have IBS and that there isn't much I can do?  This came on totally suddenly and can't be food related since I haven't really eaten much since it started.

Anyone?  I'm totally freaking out...

are you recovering from an ED and eating more than you used to? i find that i look 8 months pregnant after I eat anything, but i've accepted it because it happens each and every time. there isn't really anything you can do, stretching might make you feel better but not eating is definitely going to backfire because you do have a metabolism to worry about. so, when did this happen? how has your diet changed? what are your goals? bloating happens to me all the time though so it is relatively normal when trying to gain, and increasing your calories. hope this provides some comfort!! :)

Go to the hospital. They will give you multiple tests in the ER that would take months when you go to a GI specialist. You'll feel better, and you'll be able to assuage your anxieties. If you're not constipated, then one of your organs could be severely swollen. Are you in pain?

I too need advice on this! The bloating and pain ranges from uncomfortable to painful beyond belief! It actually wakes me up at night. I am suffering through my third bought now, and am doing my best to locate the food that can be making me feel this way.

Health guide says eat more fiber, eat fruit - seriously not possible on my current diet - it's the majority of what's on my plate.

Am seeing a doctor on Wednesday - if she has good advice I will post it. I am also concerned with a useless diagnosis of ibs.

pain and bloating can sometimes be from a blocked gallbladder or even appendicitis

It's been 7 days now, and I haven't been doing anything differently.  I'm not in recovery...I don't have an ed.  I eat anywhere from 1200-1700 (maintenance) during the week, and sometimes eat as much as 2200 on the weekends.  My diet hasn't changed at all though.  My stomach has been hurting since yesterday...it kind of feels like what the stomache flu feels like, but I'm not sick and it's been 7 days.  Shouldn't I be getting better if I have a bug?  I'm actually relieved to have some pain...at least it feels like there is a reason for the gigantic bloat now.

I ate lightly yesterday and then had a normal dinner because I was SO hungry...only to blow up like a ballon again.  My morning stomach is now like my night stomach used to be...and my night stomach is bloated low and mid tummy and pretty firm to the touch.  I'm not eating until noon so that my stomach can relax a little, and then I'm going to have chicken corn chowder and grapes for lunch...which are supposed to be a gas/bloat free foods.

I guess I'll give it a few more days and treat it like a virus.  Does this sound like anything to anyone?  An ulcer etc.?

Thanks for everyones advice and support so far, it's really helping me relax a little...but I'm still worried :(.  You guys are the best though.

Have you been tested for Gluten allergy?  I would be tested for this.

The reason why you are bloating and why it is only gettin worse is because you are stressing out! Try to relax, take a hot bath, watch your favourite show and massage your belly gently! I know all about bloating and it is horrible, but I know it is because I'm stressed, if I'm relaxed and not obsessed with my belly then it is flat, so 1 adviece... Stop focussing on it and relax!!

If the GI doctor does not find anything wrong with you, you should get your colon cleansed. It seems the issue is there. You will feel better and can start eating healthy.
