I need to know what to do in this situation.

Yesterday I was feeling pretty bad all day. Don't know why or what caused it. When I got off at 5 pm I was feeling good so I went for my even run. When I was done about an hour later I went home and had dinner. Immediately after finishing dinner, I mean like 2 seconds the bad feeling came back and I had to run to the bathroom and pray to the porcelain god.

Everything came out I was even having dry heeves. Ya know the hurtful kind where your body is trying to force out nothing but air. About 30 minutes after I was feeling good again and  thought I was able to eat something but frankly I was scared cause I absolutely hate throwing up. I went to bed without eating anything else but of course I wasn't hungry. Also I didn't want to start feling bad again.

What do you do in a situation like this. Do you force yourself to eat something or do like I did and just write off the day and pick it up he next day?

I only had about 700 calories yesterday. Dinner if it stayed down would've given me 1600.

Hi,

You have a bug (possibly norovirus or something similar).  Don't stress about it.  Don't eat if feel like you can't, drink plenty of fluids. It will pass, and your eating pattern will get back to normal in a few days.

Forget about counting calories while you are sick, and it probably isn't advisable to run or do strenuous exercise until the bug has passed.

Get well soon,

Ax

If you're sick, don't eat.   Drink plenty of fluids, maybe some clear soup if you can manage it.  But by and large it's best to rest the gut after a vomiting episode.  Give it a day where you just sip drinks and if at the end you feel hungry, try a little dry toast or similar..... nothing with any fat in it because that tends to make things worse.  If you're still vomiting after eating nothing and it goes on for more than a day or two then see your doctor.

Really don't worry about calories when you're ill..... it's not the top priority

Instant, violent vomiting sounds like food poisoning to me.  Could be a bug, though.  Are you familiar with the BRAT diet?  That's where you need to be the next few days (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast).  Only eat if you're feeling up to it, but get some gatorade and some ice chips and try to stay hydrated.

Feel better!
