Hi my name is Amanda and I just joined today!  I started my change to a healthy lifestyle 2 weeks ago and I have lost 8 pounds with diet and working out!  I am 5"3 and my current is 260lb.  I have been eating 1600 cal daily.  I am just wondering in those calories.....how much fat, carbs, and protien do I need?  Thanks to anyone who could help.  I appriciate it so much!

I beleive CC says it should be, out of your daily calories, 30% fat 30% protein and 40% carbs. You can keep track by using the Analysis tool.

Amanda,  Welcome to cc! Congrats on starting your life changes. To answer your question, there is no one set % of your calories that "need" to come from fat, carbs, and pro. The general consensus recommendation in nutrition science is between 40-60% cals from carbs, 10-30% cals from pro, and 15-35% cals from fats. In general, you want to try to make sure you are getting a variety of healthy foods in your diet. Focus on getting your calories from mostly whole fruits, veges, grains, lean protein, and unsaturated fats and cut back on processed foods.

Good luck!
