need a little help right now

Quote  |  Reply
hi guys,

sorry to be that needy person, but i just feel like i need a little help,

i was doing well, keeping up with my goals, and i thought it would be a good idea to relax a little, as i was getting fairly obsessve about food and calorie counting, well then i relaxed a little more, and a litte more...

for the past month ive been eating terribly, loads of cheese and chocolate,  and so on, even though im lactose intolerant, and it makes me feel ill, going well over calorie outakes. ive been getting very depressed, which just leads to me comfort eating more, and im pretty sure one of the reasons im feeling down anyway is because my diet is so bad. ive not got back on the scales, as i know ive ballooned and dont want to know how bad its got. my skin is terrible and im always tired.

i know people, its not the end of the world, there are lots of other people out there in a worse weight position and so on. but im terrified that this is going to push me into a depression. my father has had depression sine i was a kid, and my mother has suffered major depressive bouts lasting years at a time, both of them having months at a time where they couldnt function (ie getting out of bed kind of thing)

my boyfriends gone away for the week, and im all alone, and just need some perspective, im internalising, and it makes it seem so much worse than it is

thanks. Kate

Just a theory, but I think fat cells don't like to be empty and they start sending little signals to our mind to start eating bad stuff again.  That's why so many of us "relax" after a period of weight loss. Our mind is very powerful, however, and can also FIGHT the evil signals coming from our empty fat cells.

I would recommend getting on the scale right now and once you see the ugly number, the disgust may inspire you to get back on track.  Do not get depressed about it -- remember, you are in a ruthless fight with the empty fat cells trying to get full again.
