I need to lose 155 lbs
I have stuck with cc for a week now and I have a feeling I just might be able to do this. I am always afraid of if I am eating the right foods even though I meet the calorie goals. Like grapes and other fruit sent my sugar limit over. I think I am making a huge change in what I use to do so I think I will lose weight. I don't even own a scale. I eat like plain cheerios with vanilla soy milk for breakfast and chicken tenders salad for lunch with plain yogurt and salsa dressing. then is where I get in trouble because I have soo many calories left I have like 2 snacks before dinner ( grapes or a small spoon of peanut butter) then dinner and I usually get around 1900 calories so I am excited I might lose weight and I wont have to get gastric bypass which I can't afford. I have the most beautiful kids Zechy is 3 and Noah is about to be 2 I have to be healthy for them so I can use all the support I can get.
Reason: Moved from P&P to Weight Loss
Hello delia200 and welcome. I have to lose about 90 lb myself and I've lost 25 lb so far (for the last 2 months). I am very excited about it and I hope to stay on it for a while.
As for your eating - I know, it is a big change of habits. try to plan your meals aheand and try to maybe plan 6 smaller meals a day or 3 regular meals and snacks in between. I do breakfast - usually 1 cup of cereal with skim milk and banana, then I have a snack - lite yogurt or fruit, then lunch - turkey lite sandwich or salad with chicken, then snack again before it is time for dinner. For dinner I try to eat either fish or chicken with vegies and some dessert (of course, low-cal - fat-free pudding, or fruit salad, or smth else), and then I have a lite yogurt or a cup of grapes or an apple as an after dinner snack. If I don't stick to this plan - I am lost. It works for me, but I think you just need to find your own way of doing that.
Good luck and you can do it! It feels sooo much better when you achieve smth you've been aiming for.
delia, it is great that you've found this site and are ready to make a wonderful healthy life change! Of course, some times down the road will be tough, but definitely use the CC community for support because we are all in this together, regardless of our many different walks of life. You seem like a wonderful mother to be doing this, to be healthy for your kids-- they can be your inspiration!
GOOD LUCK with your weight loss and healthy eating! You can do it!
I wouldn't worry too much about the sugar in fruit. Honestly, I just ignore it. I'm more worried about processed sugars in the foods I eat. Fruit is all natural, so enjoy it. :)
Good luck with your weight loss! I was able to get to pre-baby weight after I found CC. Now that I'm expecting again, I hope to get back to pre-baby weight more quickly since I've learned so much from the site. You can definitely do this! Here are a few links you might find useful:

Hey! Welcome to CC!!
Congrats on getting started. Seriously don't worry too much about how healthy your food is. As long as you are getting the right number of calories you will lose weight. Obsessing about "good" vs. "bad" foods is just something the diet industry invented to make money. You sound like you are doing really well so far! Message me anytime if you want. :)
Good luck!
