Hello Bethie,

I want you to know that you are making a great choice for yourself.  On March 8, 2006 I weighed over 300 pounds.....it took me ten years to put that on, so I knew when I started my life changing habits I would need to go slow and healthy.  I counted calories and fat grams - and used this site for tracking everything I ate or every step I took.   It took me 14 months, but I dropped over 140 pounds and went from a size 26-28 to a 12-14!!!    I just moved to a new city with a new job and am back trying to get the 30 pounds that crept on over the holidays and visiting all the new great places to eat..

Good Luck and just go "step by step"  "meal by meal"   Once the first 30 pounds fall off...the rest will follow.  You WILL look in the mirror again and recgonize who is looking back - I promise...just DO IT....for you !!

Hi!

I've got 110 pounds to lose, so we're in the same boat. :D I'd be delighted to be your weight loss buddy!

Hey bethie,

I've got at least 100 lbs. to loose.  I'll be 28 in a few weeks and want to start a family with my hubby.  I started using CC at the end of April and so far have lost a little over 7lbs.  It's tough, but I give in to temptations every once in a while.  I try to exercise every day, but sometimes I have to kick myself in the butt to even do 20 minutes.  I'm a school teacher so I'm on my feet most of the day which helps.  Feel free to add me as a buddy, I'd love to help you out and love the extra support too! :)

(Only 13 days of school left....wooo hooo)

Hi Bethie

I am new to this too. I have 100+ to lose and I'd love to have a buddy to talk with.  I really want to make a change in my life and live a longer, healthier, more active life for myself, my husband and my children. I just want to feel good and not have the aches that come with being too heavy.

Welcome, newcomers to this thread! Wondering how everybody (specifically Bethie-the OP) is doing so far? I am doing great, better than I thought I would! I don't plan to weigh myself for another two weeks so it will be healthy eating, calorie counting and exercising on the 'fit and SI6 until then. Another 'milestone'- 20 bucks worth of veggies! I hope I get to eat them all before they go bad. LOL.

Amandie

Welcome, bethie~!

Please feel free to add me as a support buddy also.  I started out weighing more then 400 lbs and have managed to lose more then 220 so far (30 more to go!).  You've received a lot of great advice on here so far, so I'm not going to take up to much of your time.

All I'll add for now is that my success is based on the fact that I chose to change my lifestyle rather then go on another diet (you'll hear that mantra on here a lot).  Once I changed my mental attitude toward food and exercise, and learned how to make healthy choices, the battle to lose weight became a winning battle.

Drop me a note anytime if you need a bit of motivation or support.

Wow! What an inspiration! Congratulations on your success! Hopefully with all the help on here I can follow in your footsteps!

Thanks!!

I feel the exact same way! Together all of us can do it! I have faith =)

Hi Bethie!  I also have over 100 to lose. I don't care to be down to a size 2 but would like to be at a size where I can shop in the regular section.  I have lost the same 40 pounds 3 times but have unfortunately gained more than that with 2 of my 3 pregnancies. I have a little girl who is 3 months and I'm ready to make it my goal to lose more than 40 this time. I want to be able to chase my kids in the yard for more than 10 minutes.

I'm too busy to go to a gym, so chasing my kids and dancing with them is basically all the exercise I get right now. I'm planning on walking with a friend in the morning twice or 3 times a week starting next week while everyone in my house sleeps.  It takes knowing there's another person waiting for me to get my butt out of bed to exercise at 6 a.m.!

Happy to see others here on the same journey.

Hi Tissa! Good luck on your journey.  I too would be happy to be able to shop in a "regular" store.  I have 2 great kids, both are teenagers, so I dont have to run after them but I do want to be able to do things with them without feeling exhausted.

I too dont have time for the gym, so I did get a treadmill.  Hopefully that will help boost the weight loss a little because I really dont get much exercise. (I am ashamed to admit)Frown.

After doing various searches for "lose 100 lbs" I came across this group.  I need to lose at least 100, and it feels like I have been big all my life, but looking back, I realize that I put on most of it during pregnancy and had struggled ever since.  My kids are now grown, but the weight is still here!

I want very much to lose weight because I don't want to get old and have a hard time doing the things I love to do.  I want better health and I want to feel and look good.

And most of all, I want food and eating to someday not be the focus of my life. It seems like I am always thinking about food.

I want exercise to be something I look forward to and have fun with, rather than dread and find boring.

I am happy to have found others who understand what its like to have a lot to lose.  Nothing drives me more nuts than someone who needs to lose 10 lbs and talks about how obese they are!

Grace2166 - it seems like I'm always thinking of food and in the kitchen too!  It's either to clean up in there or to get a snack for the kids, make lunch or dinner, etc. I feel like I'm constantly in the kitchen so it's hard NOT to think of food.

And ditto on hearing others complain how fat they are when they only need to lose 10 pounds.  I know to them it's a big deal but please don't go complaining to me when it's obvious I need to lose a tad more than that!

I'm also really worried about my hips. I don't have problems now but my grandma has had hip replacement surgery at least 6 times in the last 20 years. I was blessed with her hips, so I've got to get them slimmed down or else risk hospital time in the future.

Hi Tissa, Nice to meet you! Smile  My mom just had hip replacement surgery and not even because of weight, so I suppose I'm blessed with weak joints as well.

I've had a fairly good day today. No overeating.  I could have made a couple better food choices, but I"m not going to beat myself up.

Tomorrow is another day. I will get out and walk.  Its supposed to be sunny. We had more rain today, so that was my excuse.  lol

Hello there, I am very much interested in attacking this with you.  I'm 30, and I weigh 250 pounds.  If your still in need of a buddy, please let me know....Jen
