Quote  |  Reply

I got my wedding dress in and my wedding is 6 weeks away.ITS TOO SMALL!! i argued with the lady to order a 14 ( i just ordered a dress for my friends wedding and that the size i got) and after the mesure ments where taken shes like no ill order the 12..

Well its too small, i havnt gained any weight since i ordered it and it does fit:(

Please can some one tell me what i should do daily for the next 6 weeks to lose some inches and shed some pounds?

 Im 5'1" 150 LBS

My BMR is 1481.4 ( dont know what that is)

At home i have a elliptical and the slim in 6 videos ( combines cardio with resistance)it does everything from stretcing to crunches to lunges to squats.  i am not near a gym and i walk every day with kids for 30 mins

PLEASE HELP!! ive been trying to lose weight forever and now with not being able to fit into my wedding dress im so depressed.

I tried to take it back and they will not help me.Seeing i already took it home. I have found a seamstress, who has delt with problems from the same place ( ordering wrong) and is willing to do the owrk for free. She is going to give me 4 weeks to lose some weight ( because either way i would like to lose even a few pounds) Thank you all for your help in this and ill keep everyone posted through my Journal.

Well Bryndchildr, you must have missed the part where she says she already "walks 30 minutes" and "has been trying to lose weight forever" and and nothing is happening.

That is why I said that doesn't count. It's not doing what she wants it to do. If that is working for YOUR body, that's great. But you are not her, don't have her body, don't have her metabolism, and don't have her goals. You cannot compare yourself to her needs.

I'm a professional trainer and providing free expertise to guide her to meet HER goals in HER timeframe. And from her own statements, she obviously needs to do a lot more than just walk with kids.

But glad that's working okay for you.

I am 5 ft. 1 in.    For every 10-12 pounds I lose it seems to equal one dress/pant  size.   You can do this in 6 weeks if you put your mind to it.  Cutting back on carbs and eat only lean meat, low carb veggies, fruit will do it for you the quickest way.   I lost 32 pounds in 8 weeks doing this and walking quickly for 35 mins. daily on one of my diets.  Can you imagine how beautiful you'll feel in that smaller sized dress in 6 weeks ?  But if you can't commit to eating this way and fast walking, you should have the place where you're getting your dress make it right and get the bigger size.     Best Wishes !

I'm sorry, I suppose that was wrong of me to judge her needs against my own. The only reason why I felt the need to say something is because my metabolism is extremely slow after having a child due hormonal imbalances and I've had poor eating habits all my life. Figured I'd give my two cents since I've had success with CC and the advice given to me on here.. of which some was from this website, and some from a professional trainer aswell. All the advice given to her thus far is very helpful and true (including your own).

Perhaps she does need to do more than walk with kids, all I'm saying is that it's working with someone who struggles with imbalances, someone who never knew how to lose and maintain weight properly before. Perhaps it may work for her. And I don't just walk 30 minutes a day with my son, maybe it'd help her if she did some other type of cardio and walked with the kids for a bit longer? (And yes I noted that she mentioned having an elliptical trainer)

I don't know, I'm not a professional trainer.. oliverio should also speak with her doctor to make sure she doesn't have any imbalances of her own, perhaps that may be the problem... another reason she could not be losing the weight is because she's not eating properly? There is so much to consider.. I don't think one should rule out a walk with the kids because she's not losing weight.. there are too many factors to consider and I've read her posts very clearly but I haven't read anything that describes her eating habits..

Anyway, thanks for the reality check.. hah.
