Do I need more calories in the winter?
Asked by anonymous on Dec 17, 2008 in Nutrition

Does the body normally need to consume more food during the winter months?

Answer

Normally, you do not have to consume extra food in the winter.  As long you have access to heat, your calorie requirements do not increase; however, if you were constantly exposured to cold temperatures, your body would need additional energy to maintain its internal temperature and stay warm.
