I need to be Motivated

Quote  |  Reply

I'm on day 16 of 30 day shred. I used to do shred in the morning and No more trouble zone at night. Suddenly, I lost interest in everything. I  wanted to lose weight to surprise my boy friend (rather ex). But, I don't want to do anything now. Even if I start the workout I stopped in middle also, something I've never done.

Are you eating enough to give you energy for your workouts?

I think so. But, I feel really tired, and got knee pains as well.

I got terrible shin splints from the 30 Day Shred. I don't think I made it past the first week. Don't let it discourage you.

Here's what I'd do: Go to the library and get several workout videos so you can screen them. Rotate through the ones you like. I know the Shred sounds like a good idea, but sticking to the same workout for a full 30 days is redundant. You will overexercise some areas and possibly injure them and/or your body will adjust to them and burn less calories.

When it comes to exercise, it pays to have a short attention span. Lord knows I do!

I agree with tomatotomata's suggestion to check out other workout videos.  However, if you are feeling tired and sluggish, the first place to look for energy is your diet.  I saw another post of yours where you said you were eating 1200-1300 calories a day.  You need to make sure you are giving your body enough fuel to exercise.  1200 calories is enough to simply support the basic functions of a very small female body - that is, JUST BEING ALIVE, not with additional exercise.  If you are working out, you need to eat more!!!

Also, you need to make sure you are taking a day off exercise once a week.  Just as it pays to mix it up, it really pays to give your body a rest.  Your muscles need the time to repair and rebuild after all your hard work!!  :)

Thanks! I never rested at least a day in all these 16 days. I just at least did one if I'm really tired. I think I better start eating a bit more. Thanks for the help!

things that sound counterintuitive but work wonders:  eat more (read: enough), and take more (read: proper amount of) rest days.

I find that the weeks I rest at least 2 days (i'm doing the shred too!) and have one day where I eat up to maintenance I lose the most.  again, go figure! :)

Thanks! I did rest yer and thought today also I'll not do any workout. It  was hard to make up mind, but I convinced my self that I was working too hard during the last few days. So, here I am lost a 2lbs resting nicely on 130 lbs. (I was 132lbs, only once it moved towards 130 within few days I was back in 132).

Thanks a lot. I learnt a lesson. My body needs a rest. If I worked it too hard, it's going to be stubborn.
