need some motivation, big time
I am trying to lose weight but usually after a few weeks I lose all my motivation and just quit. I know what to do but I just can't seem to get back into it. can anyone give me some motivation or a push, something I am getting discouraged. thanx.

:)
What do you mean, "quit"? Since I don't know what you're currently doing, all this is a shot in the dark... but... if you're restricting too much, it's going to be a chore, and you'll quit changing. If you try to change too much at once, it's a shock, and you'll quit changing.
• Make one healthy change at a time; quit one junk food at a time and/or introduce a new healthy food one at a time. Add a little exercise at a time, get used to setting time aside for it
• Make sure you're getting protein with your carbs (and good fats) so that the food stays with you longer.
• Overall, look at this as your new healthy lifestyle, not a diet. It will have to be something you can live with or else you'll just gain it back when you're "done"
• The last thing... your choice is to quit and stay the weight you are at (or gain) or to make a change and lose!!! Even if it takes you 5 years to change your lifestyle to the point that you lose weight, you'll be healthier, and you're not LOSING anything by trying for as long as it takes!!!
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!!! You can do it!!!
Well, what motivates me is to think that its for my own good.
And to prove others that i can do it. You see in my case i have a lot of pride, i like to be independent, and have self confidence (which is not always the case) So, i just pretend that someone Told me, that idk, im ugly, or that ill never lose weight. Pretend when im doing exercise next to me, there is someone like telling me you cant do it, and then i do even more excersice to like, idk prove them wrong and make them shut up. Then i pretend that there is someone else, saying you can do it, cause we are cool like that, and we can do it.
Well its not like i literly make up imaginary friends lol
But i just think about that side of me, that thinks i cant do it, cause im just too fat, or it will never happen, and i make it as if some stupid guy is thoe one who is saying things to me (instead of me saying them to myself). And then, i think about what i want, my goals, my weight loss, and pretend a friend tells me i can do it, and just have to try and to keep going!! And i fill myself with pride, try my best and say to myself "eat dirt loser i can do it!!" (as if adressing to the "guy" that tells me bad things)lol, its funny but for me it really works.
I hope you kinda understood the idea, =/ i suck at explaining myself.
But yeah! Have pride! No matter if you fail or something, just get up, and keep going. And when you feel down, just pretend some loser ass guy that u dont like is telling you crap, and just try even harder, like, idk like if you where going to beat the hell out of him, for bugging you. =/

I'd suggest that whatever it is you're doing to lose weight is either too boring, nasty or restrictive for you to keep going with longer than a couple of weeks. That happens a lot..... people get all 'fired up' and embark on weight-loss as if it's a endurance test. But no-one can keep their teeth gritted for all that long.
I'm with crazydiamondchrysalis on this one. Whatever you change about your lifestyle, take it steadily rather than going bull at a gate - because 'all' tends to alternate with 'nothing' and then you might as well not bother.
The acid test is always 'am I enjoying this?' .... every step of the way... and if you're not enjoying the latest changes, rejig things until you are having a better time. Healthy food and exercise can and should be rewarding and pleasurable. You need no motivation whatsoever to keep doing something you enjoy.
thanx for the advice. I guess journaling is my biggest problem, hard to stay with it. I am trying to count calories. I did ww before and had great success with it, but 10yrs and another child I can't seem to get back into it, I also don't have the support this time like before. I actually like the calorie counting better, easier to follow. I guess I really haven't had a lot of experience with diets and to know which one to try,but I definately need to do something.
