Need some motivation.

I have been really hating life due to all of the weight I've gained in the last two years.  (50 lbs)  I started a new diet (again) four weeks ago and lost a total of 6.2 lbs.   That just doesn't seem like much at all since I know that if I eat some pizza I will gain it all back immediately.   Seriously.   I gain weight SO quickly.   How can I keep from giving up?

This time next year, at that rate, you will have lost 74.4 pounds.

That's great! So you will have lost that 50lbs. and an additional 24.4lbs. Not to shabby.

Im in the same boat... and i hear you on the it being really hard to stay motivated. For me the biggest step in the right direction is realizing that it is not just about the weight loss and a quick fix diet, but the fact that it is a life style change. Learning to like what is good for you, not just doing the time to lose the weight, and go back to the way one was. just remember it will all pay off in the long run, you can do it!

Good Luck!!!Smile

I just wanted to support you in your feelings, I woke up today to a gain!  I have just had it!  Even thou, I know I should chill, there are so many factors: my period is coming soon, I have been doing less of my workout, and eating some foods that are probably just to rich.  I only have 25lbs to lose and it is just not working!  I am going to drop from 1600 to 1400 see if it helps...all I really have done so far is yo-yo and today is the highest in over a month! Hang in there....just letting you know you are definetly not alone!  But I really like the remarks of look at the BIG picture and 3 months or a year from now....I know I will be at a better place than now!  We all have to just stay with the program!

I understand about lack of motivation. During college and my first year of marriage (which was my senior year of college) I gained 50 lbs. Gah, just looking at the number makes me cringe.

I started a diet and lost five lbs. then gained it back the next week. It's been back and forth for me like that for a month. Because I have no real motivation. Sure I want to be healthy and look good, but I LOVE my food.

So a coworker and I started a competition within our department. The Biggest Loser Corporate Edition. Awesome. 11 people joined and we're all putting in $20. I made up some rules and weigh ins and the person who loses the highest percentage of body weight after eight weeks wins $220.

MOTIVATION.

There are people doing this with us who don't even care about winning. They just want to be working out and eating right with people they are with everyday. It's been great for us. We laugh about it together, encourage each other and share tips. You lie to yourself when the people you are with everyday see what you are doing. Tease you for eating cake, or remind you of your calories. With that money (and my coworkers) hanging over my head I have been way more motivated to work out and eat more healthy. Maybe you could try something similar at your work or with friends.

I am dac 250 Oh boy!!! do I hear ya!! yo yo yo yo!! up and down, but I finally broke the yo yo cycle last wk. I am on a 1900 calorie diet. I started out well over 200 lbs. 31/2 months ago I was losing really well and than it hit for 3 weeks I was stuck on the same # I had hit that plateau and got really discouraged, I just wanted to throw in the towel but my best friend told me o just hang in their so I did 2 months later I started th weght start comming off I noticed it first in my clothes cause I wear 18to a 20 in my clothes my slacks stated getting loser, I hdn;t been on the scales in a while so I decided i would wiegh today I am downn to 188 I am shocked!!! 5 months I have waited for this, but my friend told me no cheat days and stick with the 1900 calories as wel as my excercise routine and it would come  itbeen a hard and rotten 5 months but I am so glad I stuck with it. Hey I have alot more to go some 50 lbs.BUT IF i CAN JUST HANG IN i KNOW IT WILL BE WORTH IT. But I do get discouraged, I want a chocalate malt so bad especially today, got a really huge sweet battle going on, so i gonna chew the sugar free gum in hopes it will satsfy my cravings. I think your idea about the weigh ins at work is a good challeage, that is what I need a good challenger.
